Yeah, but that was part of the mental game. Fore sure he would keep this line a little longer if he wasn't submitted for the first time. Kind of Ebersole´s myth of being impossible to choke out. It's fun.

Exactly, you would be surprised how many people fell for Herman's talking just like how many people fall for Sonnen's, even when both of them admitted, its just an act.

One example ive seen is that people cling on to when Sonnen said that these whiners (talking about Hendo and Machida) are not ballsy enough to fight him. And laugh that Hendo wouldnt fight Sonnen.
#1. Everyone thought Sonnen had a fight with Forrest already including Machida.
#2. Hendo wouldnt fight Sonnen the same reason that Sonnen wouldnt fight Hendo, too much respect and the both come out of Team Quest.
So because of Sonnen's talking, these people fell for the absurd idea that Hendo is ducking Sonnen and mocking him, when in truth, they are respectfully ducking each other.

Ask Sonnen, Herman, or Dana White to name a few.. when you are talk and talk loud, people will listen to you no matter how garbage your words in truth actually are.

If you saw how he was defending, you'd know he's spent a good bit of time on the mats. Not just anyone rolls deep with a fresh Nogueira and ends on on their feet, even if they're subbed in the end.

Well, thats why he said it...you dont say that shit when going into fight with Nogueira or Einemo unless you are pretty confident you can defend.
