I'd rather see Rampage/Forrest so these two bums can just fight each other and collect their paychecks. Plus, I'm all for rematches when it happens years later, as it feels like a nice blast from the past (as opposed to instant rematches that are overkill). Plus, Davis could beat Forrest, but still has nothing to offer for the top fighters of the division, so I see no point really in having him possibly beating a big name

So you're saying that Rampage shouldn't fight Glover because Rampage might win and it would mess up the ranking systems? My God, what has happened to MMA fans? Glover vs. Jackson has the makings of a war. Hence why I, as a fight fan and not a fight analyst, want to see it. If Glover wins, his stock goes up substantially. If Rampage wins, then Glover goes back to the drawing board and tries again, like any fighter who loses.

People putting so much focus on rankings as versus good fights boggles my mind. What's worse is these are the same people who give wrestling fans a hard time.

Here we go again with the rankings nonsense. Because you know, Phil couldn't possibly learn from his fight with Rashad and improve. No, that's never happened in the history of MMA. Let's just assume that because he lost to Rashad, Phil has nothing to offer the top of the division and should thus be relegated to fighting entry level fighters for the rest of his career (despite the fact that he defeated Little Nog, finished Gustaf, and sent Brian Stann and Tim Boetsch packing).

Today's MMA fans are in a sorry state.

Rampage/Forest II makes sense and is a much better fight than Phil Davis. The fight will sell itself since there's a story behind it. I wonder if Forrest is scared or UFC doesn't want to give Rampage an 'easy' fight.

Why are people hating on Rampage? It's not like he doesn't want to fight Glover. He just doesn't want to wait 6 months. And he's picking Forrest because he wants revenge, not because he's an easy fight.

They should do Rampage vs Shogun 2 after Gustaffson runs through him. I'd pick Rampage to beat both Forrest and Shogun.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

When was the last time Rampage even came to bang or was in an entertaining fight? He was hesitant against Jones. He stalled against Machida. He was content to sit on his fat arse against Bader. And he was lackadaisical against both Jardine and Hamill. Can people not see that this man is all bark and no bite nowadays? Jackson ran out of steam back in 2008, which, coincidentally, is when he had his last exciting fight. People seem to believe that a rematch between Griffin and Jackson would be exciting when nearly 5 years have passed and each is a slow, dull, and plodding version of his former self.

I'd rather see Phil's offensive wrestling and submission game against Forrest Griffin's supposedly good guard (supposedly in that we've rarely seen it).

I agree with Psycho, Rampage hasn't been impressive for a long time. AlphaDawg - Do you really think the current Rampage would run through both Forrest and Shogun? Forrest maybe, but not Shogun. The Shogun/Hendo fight - Shogun showed more heart than Rampage has shown in years. He just isn't what he used to be.

Rampage is one of those guys that will struggle after his MMA career ends. What will there be for the guy to do? At least Forrest could become a trainer or coach possibly, or go back to being a police officer.

It's never enjoyable to watch someone's career wind down.

No I'm saying if Rampage doesn't want to wait why not give him Forrest? Forrest vs Rampage makes a lot more sense than Phil vs. Forrest. IMO Forrest vs Rampage will be a war also. I only brought it up in regards to the ranking system is both guys are pretty much done with the UFC after this fight. Why waste time when its eventually going to be Phil vs Glvoer, giving the timetable and Ramapge's mindset. He literally could beat Forrest and fight Glover by March. I don't know the timeline for Glover vs Ramage, but I think that fight will happen on Superbowl weekend.

Ok, I don't usually like to say 'I told you so', but I'm saying it here. I said as soon Jackson claimed he wanted the fight started that Jackson would never actually make the fight happen, no matter what he might say, and surprise surprise, it's not.

Just go away Rampage, seriously, just retire, your heart is obviously not in it anymore.
