MMAjunkie spoke with UFC heavyweight fighter Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (17-4, MMA; 1-1, UFC) who expressed interest in facing potential UFC heavyweight title contender Alistair Overeem.
Overeem is currently serving a suspension through late December for his failed drug test from earlier this year. The two were actually scheduled to face off in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. Both won their opening round fights, but Overeem dropped out of the fight due to injury and was released from his Strikeforce contract before signing with the UFC. Silva instead faced an alternate in Daniel Cormier and was knocked out of the tournament in the first round by Cormier.
His challenge to Overeem: "If Overeem really doesn't want to have to wait for a fight after his suspension is up, I am here ready to welcome him. I respect him as an athlete. After all, he was K-1, DREAM and Strikeforce champion. But I am not worried about titles or belts right now. Overeem is big and strong, but I know I can beat him. Even if was created in the lab, I can beat him."
His thoughts on Overeem: "To me, Overeem is among the best fighters in the world, and I want to always fight the best. Of course, where I come from – Paraiba, in Brazil – our supplement of choice is molasses, and our strength is our attitude and we will fight whoever, whenever. Let's see if Overeem can say the same."
Bigfoot should likely be careful about tlaking about supplements. He tested positive for the anabolic steroid boldenone in 2008 after he defeated Justin Eilers and won the Elite XC heavyweight title. He was suspended from fighting in the US for one year and took fights overseas in Japan instead, where they don't drug test fighters. Silva at one point used similar excuses as Overeem did regarding his failed drug test.

It would likely be better for Big Foot to just try and fall down a flight of stairs till he grows out of this death wish of his. |

Bad fight for Bigfoot. I like his chances if he's still awake after Reem breaks a hand and foot on his head, if that does not happen it's another 1st round stoppage in the UFC for Reem.
