It was an embarrassing soul-destroying loss and his immediate retirement is proof of that.

Of course his illness did cause a massive decline in his ability but I think he would have been shut down regardless of his illness or not due to his inability to take punishment. If Brock would have gone straight from college into MMA I truly believe he could have been one of the greatest heavyweights to ever compete.

Instead he's just going to be remembered as the brightest candle that fizzled out quickly.
Personally I thought the loss to Cain was worse. Mostly because I think against Cain, Brock really did show up to win (and get paid) but failed. Where as against Reem he just showed up to get paid and retire. Everybody knew Brock's chances againt Reem in a kickboxing match were horrible but yet thats basically all he did except for one weak take down attempt.

Naw man it was pretty bad, Overeem didn't have no respect for Lesnar. He knew before the fight even happened that Lesnar was scared of him, you could just see the fear in Lesnars eyes as Reem was walking him down. It was bad.

Brocks striking looked pretty good. Just too bad he might have used it against the second best striker in MMA. Maybe first.... BIG MAYBE.

It wasn't that good either. Overeem humiliated him. He didn't even have to close the distance, he just walked Lesnar down. You shouldn't be able to do sth like that to a former #1 guy.

lol, you guys pretty much said everything I would have said about the loss. As you all said it was a bad loss for Brock. He didn't muster any offense at all, was on the defensive the whole fight, and got stopped in the opening round.

1. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
2. Dan "Hollywood" Henderson
3. George "Rush" St Pierre

Just a one-sided loss, they happen, I dont think it bares too much more thinking about.

Anyone would go down to a kick like that from Overeem. It was the total disregard that Overeem had for Lesner's offensive and defensive capabilities leading up to it that made the loss bad.

How'd you reach that conclusion? Lesnar only threw a few punches during the fight if i recall correctly.

It looked alot more fluid and technical from what i recall. Maybe going as far as "Good" was a bad word. But it certainly looked improved. But like i said he used it against possibly the second best striker in MMA so he obviously wasnt going to last long.

Who cares? Reem is a better fighter, Lesnar has retired. It's not an embarrassing loss, Reem is an extremely dangerous man.
