What is the point in giving our opinions if you are simply going to wave away our suggestions? Besides, on this occasion I believe you are the one who is in the minority with your opinion.
Vera has always had solid stand-up and his wrestling and grappling have been more than competent. The issue has been the mental side of things. TO say that Vera lacks talent is stupid. This is a DISCUSSION board and you asked for our opinions so show a little respect for your fellow posters.
I have labelled your opinion as stupid which is fair because I didn't start this thread asking for the opinions of others and your attitude stinks quite frankly.
Then don't post in this topic.
Like I said, Brandon Vera has always been extremely overrated.
The dude wrestled a bit in the army and they acted like he was a D1 calibre wrestler despite having terrible takedown defense most of his career. His standup was just average, especially his defense...
Brandon Vera was nothing more than a hype train that got derailed, not a waste of talent.
He was never that talented to begin with. He beat two scrubs and an injured Frank Mir after the accident and people acted like he was the shit.
As far as my "opinion" it's pretty much reality...I know you might not even know who the guy is, but it was pretty sad considering his natural ability to submit dudes in the cage.
Definitely more talented than a Joe Lauzon...if he would've took his career more seriously and dropped to 155.

Pretty much flushed his life down the drain though.
Lee Murray was a stud too.
But definitely a thug who had outside interests other than fighting.
In terms of just natural fighting talent, Lee Murray was pretty exceptional...reminds of me of Nick Diaz in terms of just being an natural in the cage.
