He still has a big future in the UFC and in MMA. He is a great speaker, does very well with commentary and analysis, and is just in general a likeable guy. While I hate to see him stop fighting at least he is going to be taken care of.

The first of my true, personal, favorites to call it quits... this is a very bittersweet moment for me. Stephan is a beast, and one of the toughest men to ever enter the octagon.

Cheers to you Sir for a story book career. I think it's saying something to be going down as one of the most famous names in MMA/UFC without ever holding a belt... in a weird way, that's a big accolade.

Bonnar will be asked to fight Wand in Brazil in January when some other fight gets cancelled due to injury. Calling it now.

Not a bad guess. I wonder if he has any fights left on his contract or if A.Silva was the last one? If he still has fights left it could happen, if not then a new contract would have to be stupidly lucrative for him to take it.

He was "semi-retired" before Anderson Silva fight. He daydreamed about "what if" he would have beat Spider. I think if they offer him a high profile fight, he will take it. I'm sure Wand meets the twitter requirements to face Bonnar.

Never understood why UFC didn't give him big fights. He said he was half retired before Dana called. Why? he was 3-0 he has taken damage but not really KO'd. His last win he looked real good, strong, cardio. Was it Kingsbury?

But I think they could have done a couple older fighter fights. Vs. Wandy, Franklin, Hendo would all be good fights. I've always liked Bonnar/Lil Nog as well.

He said they didn't offer him much in the way of big fights so he lost interest.

Or maybe he just wants to hang it up. But he was looking as good as he ever had before the Anderson fight. And seemed to be still having fun. Fighters usually come back, hope he does when he's ready. Tough to have a baby and go train for weeks on end for a fight.

I don't know about facing Hendo, Bonnar could get really hurt in that matchup. But I like him fighting Wand, Franklin, lil Nog, Forrest, even Rampage could have been fun.

Class act...long live the American Psycho!

End pose wide eyed with bloody face...

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

Here's to a great career. I've always found him to be an entertaining and insightful mouthpiece, so hopefully we'll still see him doing commentary now and again. Maybe he and Florian can switch it up every so often. Congratulations on a heck of a career and a new family.
