After Fitch vs Silva, I'm pretty confident that Diaz would submit Fitch. Fitch would get owned on the feet but ultimately secure the takedown, unfortunately he's outclassed on the ground too.

Silva is a monster athlete and that's what lead to that fight being so back and forth. Silva was able to keep getting to his feet. Diaz would not be able to do that

Diaz is one of the best athletes in MMA, which is irrelevant because he can beat Fitch on the ground. Erick himself nearly submitted Fitch, that's not athleticism it's skill, and Nick has better Jiu Jitsu than both of these guys.

But my point is that Greg Jackson has the gameplans to beat either Diaz brother now, and he'd corner GSP. I cheer for the Diaz brothers, but GSP is perhaps the most disciplined fighter. He'll follow a gameplan while Nick just shows up to fight.

On mobile, sorry for spelling errors
Tell that one to Donald Cerrone.

Guys like Maia, Jacare, Vinny, and Gracie are on different levels than guys like Diaz. He's an awesome black belt but he's not on the level of those guys.

Maia was also able to get guys like Chael and Story to the ground, I don't think Story's defensive wrestling is that great but I'd rate it above Nick's.

Cerrone didn't fight with a game plan, that was pretty evident five seconds in when he rushed Nate.

His game plan was to out-kickbox Nate Diaz, it failed.

Not all game plans involve strike n' bike and lay n' pray.

Some guys just game plan to go in there and actually out fight the other guy. Donald tried to out-fight Diaz and got smashed.

I agree.

People raved about Cerrone's striking calling it one of the very best at the weight class.

His gameplan was to come in and out-strike Nate, that is basically always his gameplan as he believes he is a better striker. He was scared shitless to go to the ground with Nate.

He chose and planned to out-strike him. He was wrong and was beaten like a dog.

I'd like to see Diaz and Maia roll, but not an mma match. Maia has false confidence in his stand up and Diaz would pick him apart before it would ever come close to sniffing the ground.

I'd love to see Diaz back against a top tier welterweight.
