Clearly someone does not like Guida, but it doesn't change the fact that if you can't beat Guida you can't beat top tier competition. If Guida can out wrestle you for 3 - 5 rounds, guess what? The top tier of LW's can as well. If he can out strike you for 3 - 5 rounds, guess what? The top tier of LW's can as well.
Guida is a very good talent check.

Clay Guida the only crowd favorite you couldn't find a single fan of.

Guida is a cancer to the sport. Seeing if he can out point someone based on the current flawed system should not be the key factor in determining a fighters worth. The fact that he even forced a SD vs Maynard should make all MMA fans weep. It's extremely sad that a performance like that can even approach winning. I would say beating Gray Maynard would be a better way to see if he is the elite fighter most think he has been for years now.

Diego Sanchez, Sanchez/Alvarez is a good title eliminator, maybe give each of them a tune-up fight. After Cerrone/Pettis their isn't to many guys in line for a title shot.

I can't believe i picked Gilbert as well, but out of all those matches that's the one that intrigues me the most. I just hope if he does fight him, that he doesn't end up being stuck in SF.

I'm starting to think that Eddie is criminally underrated on this board and might be suffering some kind of backlash due to Lombard, which is silly, they are completely different fighters.

So one bad fight is all it takes for you? Guida has given us plenty of wars, the guy has no quit in him. He has played with the top dogs and perspective top dogs and given them all a fight. I doubt you would ever hear any of them say 'My easiest fight in the UFC was against Clay Guida'.
I also never said Clay Guida was an elite fighter, just if you can't beat him you can't hang with them. Clay is what he is, a very legit gate-keeper. Clay would be a great barometer for how Eddie will do against UFC LWs.

Guida has far more then just 1 fight that makes me hate his existence. It has been progressively bad. His latest abomination was just the peak. He is the worst kind of point fighter in the game. He can act crazy pre and post fight all he wants, I just wish he would use that same energy in actually fighting. Annoying movement and holding on to guys is not what I enjoy watching. He is all about making it look like he is doing something without actually doing anything.
