I remember my friend who at the time thought no one in the WW division was going to out-strike AJ saying "Well i really didnt expect Koscheck to beat him on the feet".

Il REwatch the fight again tomorrow cause im going to give you the benefit of the doubt that AJ made it competitive. But im fairly certain that Koscheck was getting the better of the exchanges.
You must have been really deep in the bottle when that fight came on... Kos only stood with AJ for about one minute or so... Kos did land a really good overhand..But as soon as he started getting hit he took it to the ground and he kept it there untill he sub'd him... I assure you, there was no mixing it up...

that fight is a great example of how elite wrestling can overcome a huge size advantage, this is way off topic but the difference in size of GSP and Anderson is less significant than that of AJ and Kos, even more so because Anderson doesnt even use his size to his advantage, hes just a striker...AJ uses his wrestling and still couldnt outgrapple Kos

if GSP truly is the best wrestler in MMA shouldnt he be able to do the same to anderson whos biggest weakness is wrestling?....

im really just thinking out loud here lol, this is not directed to you but i just think that fight proves my point

I know what you mean... That fight had me kinda chuckling... Kos looked liked a small child on top of AJ but he kept him down with ease.

Same as above for matt serra not the p4p part but everything else

Kongo = defensive wrestling (basically chuck lidell style wrestling)

imagine kongo if no one could take him down

no longer in the sport but broke lesner and striking does not even have to have great striking, just has to be well enough to be able to throw a good technicl punch with most his power

thats all for now im sure more will pop into my head once i post this lol
It's not as fighters wouldn't be able to out-strike him or knock him out, it's happened a few times before.

And he has won more fights with his wrestling than lost via being taken down repeatedly.
