That makes the fights look better on TV especially to people who are channel flipping and without a lot of reference points they likely don't realize they are smaller (the UFC uses a smaller cage for TUF).

My apoligies but as for 170 and 185 we've seen lots and lots of people gas hard on the show. It happens every season far more than once. It happened this season.
The talent was there for the cruz vs faber division but that's basically because at 125 the ufc can get the pick of the litter for practically nothing at this point.
at 155, 170, 185... its pretty slim pickings. there just cheap slim pickings.

I'd like to just throw in that another problem is people actually being the right weight class. Like Rashad Evans won as a HW, which is laughable, because as soon as he could he went to his right weight class. He wasn't the only guy there who wasn't a real HW, they just put on the pounds or didn't weight cut to get on the show. At the lighter weights it happens, but not as much.

Not as much? Ross Pearson, Danzig, Brookins, That's 3 of the top of my head. Joe Stevenson, Deigo sanchez at middle weight..
Why is it laughable? How about a russian middle weight running the pride heavy weight division for several years?
Yeah heavy weights are lacking. Still don't see why we can't have a lhw division.

You could have fooled me. Seems like every guy is a complete bum anymore. None of them have a job they all live off a friend or a girlfriend and they all seem to have kids. They quit their job so they can "make it" it's really kind of pathetic.

I'm gonna go with the cardio thing. Th TUF HW season was unbearable to watch at times. No one wants to see two gassed out fat guys stumble around a ring or laying on each other. It doesn't make for a good fight and certainly doesn't draw in new fans who are channel surfing.
Does that mean all the lighter weight class fights are exciting? No, but to the average viewer it at least looks more like you are watching two athletes in a semi professional fight, instead of a freak show with two fat guys struggling to breath.

Not to mention we're seeing guys lumber through.
So a skinnny guy huffing and puffing wheezing for breath after promising for a whole season he was gonna fight for his family sucks with a fury of all 9 hells,
and that's suppose to be good t.v?
Least fat guys on tuff tend to be funny.

Like I said making the guys a lighter weight doesn't guarantee the fights won't be just as bad or even worse. It's a probability thing, though.

The TUF season that featured Kimbo Slice was all heavyweights. It was Rampage and Evans, I think. Every single fight that season was pathetic. Every single one of those world class professional athletes were gassed within the first 2 minutes.

Yeah, the heavyweight season that Nelson won was terrible. There wasnt a good fight on the show and 80% of the cast came in out of shape.
Easily the worst season as far as good fights and entertainment goes.
