What Are The Chances GSP Finishes Condit???
Seriously. We all know GSP isn't a finisher and Condit is pretty tough with good cardio.
But is there a chance GSP comes out flaming ready to go and finds a sub later in the fight? It was a while ago, and Condit is better now than he was then...but he was subbed by Pat Healy.
Perhaps everyone overrated Hughes. But I am surprised GSP could slap an armbar like that on Hughes, but can't finish Dan Hardy. I figured as time went on and he got even more comfortable as a wrestler, that he would begin to sub a lot of guys after smothering them with dominant top control.
I think GSP wins this fight all day. But I have a weird feeling he finds a rear naked or arm triangle later in the fight. I think he absolutely takes Condit down at will.
What say ye?

Probably better than GSP finishing Condit, but still slim to none.
Edit - I think I misread the title...

I think there is a chance GSP finishes Condit. The reason I think this is that Condit is going to have a kill or be killed attitude and after GSP manhandles him early he is going to start taking risks to try and win making it easier for GSP to set up a finish.
I also think Condit is going to push GSP slightly out of his comfort zone which will make GSP go for the finish more instead of just waiting for the decision.
That all said I won't be that surprised if it goes to a decision...

I really don't think Condit has that great of BJJ. I think it is solid. But I don't see any sweep for Condit vs. a guy like GSP.
Thing here is GSP is looking at this like he doesn't have the title. GSP is coming off major surgery. Will he play it even safer? Will he take position and not want to give it up? And secure no way Condit can win? He may.
I don't see him having an ounce of trouble getting TDs. Just depends what Condit's guard looks like and what GSP is really trying to accomplish here. Or has he had a moment to sit back and listen to more of his critiques and take it up in this fight and look to finish?
Basically, I think he can finish Condit (probably not TKO/KO him) if he tries to make a point too. But not sure if this is the fight to do that.

GSP inside the distance is at about +285 right now. That makes it a little better than 25%, according to the oddsmakers.
I have no idea how healthy he is or what his state of mind is going into this fight (nor does anyone really), so I don't have a very strong opinion on this topic.

If he took a risk he might be able to, but I doubt he will do that. Not only is Condit a really scrappy guy, he's also very well rounded and has a strong chin. I think GSP takes this via 5 round dry-hump with a little bit of ground n pound, but only enough to maintain his position and not get stood up.
I really don't think GSP will try anything unsafe vs Carlos.
