Machida is scheduled to fight Dan Henderson in February. The next Japan event will be a month after on March 3rd 2013.
I believe both these fighters should fight on the Japan show. Henderson fought many times in Japan, and Machida is partially Japanese
Machida's father is Japanese and taught him Shotokan Karate.
He also possesses judo, jujutsu, aikido and sumo techniques
He was likened to the videogame character Ryu from streetfighter
I believe Machida in Japan would be bigger then Cung Le in China (despite the perfect KO on Franklin). Machida is a former UFC champion, and I believe the best Asian fighter.
I believe Machida should fight on an Asian card,or at least on a Brazilian card. It's buffling why he hasn't fought in either
He would be Asia's biggest star... except for the fact that he's Brazilian. He does show some ties to his Japanese roots, but as far as I'm concerned, he's more enriched in the Brazilian culture (though I could be wrong). Plus, he hasn't fought in Japan terribly often, so I highly doubt he made himself famous there.
The Asian crowd is very different from the rest of the world especially Japan. I find that very unique. Personally it's a contrast, but I think if I were fighting I'd choose Brazil. The fans line-up to watch ALL THE PRELIMS. They cheer on their hometown favorites, but know a good fight when they see one. True fans IMO.

Machida's the kind of fighter alot of fighters are fans of especially from Asian countries but also from all over. You can see it when u saw Dong Hyun Kim with the repeated flying front kicks, Rampage also stating hes a fan of Machida after he fought Jones, Siyar Bahadurzada made a comment about Machida's skills, even Vitor apologized if he said anything that was insulting to Machida when he called the lhw division diva's. Machida's a living legend, and in my opinion fights at a weight class above his normal weight.

He has fought there more times than he has Brazil. I wonder how much UFC the Japanese watch though, Brazil watches a bunch and fighters become famous there while fighting in America - not sure if the likes of Okami do while fighting in the UFC all the time.
He used to fight under Inoki's brand, but then Machida went back on his word by winning a fight he wasnt supposed to win becuz Inoki put money on the other guy. After Machida won, Inoki punched Machida several times in front of everybody, but Machida didnt go down, he took it like a man so Inoki shook his hand becuz otherwise he would look like a bitch, however after that I heard Inoki didnt want to do anything with Machida "becuz he digraced Japan".
