Meh, frankly, I wouldn't have had a problem with either fighter scoring the win. Both fought terribly and neither should walk away feeling too good.

Carmont is a good fighter. But he fought like shite tonight.

I have no problem with it if they just CLOSE THEIR FIST.

It's easy.

But, then there's no chance of a finger in the eye.

Yeah, but Lawlor was clearly the aggressor for the most part. An incompetent aggressor, but still...

Yeah I agree, the open hand out, especially with long reach is just a dirty tactic. Its the one thing I hate about JBJ's style.

Its not that easy to close the fist I know that sounds weird to you, maybe its due to the fact you train in boxing gloves and let the hands go loose when ever you are not throwing a punch.

Carmont landed the harder shots though. It doesn't really matter, neither fighter will be happy about their performances.

Fair enough. The ref was garbage, it was really the ref's job to let Carmont know that trying to jam your fingers in your opponent's eyes is frowned upon.

Ref was too busy giving Carmont endless restarts in the middle of the cage every time Lawlor had the advantage.

The ref told Lawlor to work literally 1 sec after he got the first takedown, I was like WTF?

A few reminders might be enough for Carmont to reign in his habit, i dont think he was trying to poke anyone in the eye though.
