UFC needs a ring
They gotta get rid of the octagon, look i know its apart of there history and they created it but the ufc would be much better with a ring like in pride and boxing. Just look at kickboxing its a perfect example fights look way sicker in a ring then in a cage. Fights would be more official and have more meaning then the CAGE, prize fighters instead of cage fighters like back in pride

I've always thought a ring would help them out when it came to getting sanctioned, they wouldn't be able to use the term cage fighting or human cock fighting so this isn't really a bad idea but it'll never happen.

I want UFC presents: PRIDE FC with a ring, soccer kicks with Bas Rutten and Steven Quadros doing the commentary and the goofy starting video where they break down the fights.
Buy fuk getting rid of the octagon for UFC, it stops a whole lot of trouble that the ropes brought... re-centering ect, plus you can use the cage for takedowns and such.

Should happen but won't. Changes the dynamic of MMA fights for the better and has more mass appeal as LyotoLegion said.

Uhhh, no? I don't see how it adds more appeal. People see an 8 sided cage and think 'oh shit'. The UFC is known for it an its a part of its brand ingrained in their very essence. Try to picture a UFC event with out the Octagon in the middle you'll find yourself confused and befuddled.
Also, I don't see how a ring makes things 'more official', what not with guys getting tangled up in the ropes and thrown out of the ring. The idea of a cage is elegant and simple and eliminates the non-sense in that regard. Even in the land of MMA rings, Japan, Dream decided to try out the cage.
The UFC are pretty much sanctioned everywhere (barring some notable exceptions), I don't see why they would change their central symbol to appease the minority of people.

I never liked the Ring, it just doesn't really work when you add in a ground game.

They could use it but certainly won't need it. I like the cage. Ring is excellent for the striking world but with all the grappling in MMA, we're better off with a cage. The pros don't beat the cons imo.

A ring would've been better for that reason back when they first started but at this point, it's a non-factor really. If they were able to make it work in the 90s and early 2000s, they can do it now as well.

Ring sucks, the ONLY part I didn't like about PFC. It it just cumbersome and I like how the cage actually reflects real-world fighting more than a ring. Pinning people up against a wall, etc.
