It is a short notice fight, but it's not like Kongo needs to cut weight or anything. He also hasn't lost enough to worry about being cut and he hasn't won enough to be in contention. So IMO it doesn't appear like he has much to lose here. I wonder why he turned it down.

My gut is telling me that a win against Nelson does nothing for his cred or putting anywhere near a title shot. A lose to Roy would severally hurt his cred. Also if he is French he might be worried about visa issues no sense taking a fight you might not be able to get into the US for. I know at best he is HW gate keeper but looking at it from his perspective.

Eh I dunno. Roy would be the best win of his career unless I'm forgetting something. Roy is in the level between the guys Kongo beats and the guys Kongo loses to. Which IMO puts them on about the same level.

A lot of HWs seem to hate fighting Roy cuz they know he's a tough matchup.
I can't even remember the last time Kongo fought other than the Hunt fight. I wish Mirko beat em. Oh well get Tyrone Spong and see how good Kongo is. Actually Hunt already showed what a real K-1 fighter is. Back step left hook counter...easy.
I wish Brock were around cuz I've always wanted to see that fight.

Kongo fought in July on the Faber-Barao card. Got the UD over Shawn Jordan.

Haha, Roy will still be able to procreate after 12/15, although I'm not quite sure if that's ideal for the human race...
