GSP vs Silva PPV Predictions?

So, it's seeming more and more possible we're going to see this super-fight, but as it's becoming more of a possibility, is it really worth it?

The numbers of UFC 154 ppv buys might shed some light on the potential to this match, but I don't think it would sell as much as DW/UFC would hope for.

As fans it would be sweet. However, one way or another, it would leave a lot of fans disappointed. If Silva loses, his credibility of being a MW Champ is shot ...who would give a shit to buy his next PPV?

And of course people wouldn't be that upset if GSP lost to a bigger man, but what if he gets knocked the f*ck out in embarrassing fashion ...wouldn't that tarnish his legacy? ...even more

For awhile the thought of this fight excited me. But it's a bigger guy fighting a smaller guy. Condit is no A.Silva.

I'm not saying I won't be somewhat excited to see it (although I know where I'd put my money), but I don't think it'll sell 2 million pay-per-views or set any records. Although maybe.... I could be wrong.

What do you guys think, would it be the best selling PPV ever? Brock vs Mir 2? Smashing Liddell vs Ortiz 2? Sonnen vs Silva 2? For some reason, I doubt it.

I'd say it'd get at least a million.

This is a fight that hardcores and casuals would be all over, it'd clearly be the biggest fight in the history of the sport so yeah, a million at least.

Don't think it can get 2 million though, I think Brock/Fedor post UFC 100 might have been able to do 2 million though.

I don't think it is gonna happen.

If it does, I'd say it would do between 1.5mill to 1.8mill.

I still dont understand why people think a fedor fight would have been a big deal in the UFC??? He NEVER had big numbers in ANY of his fights!

Back on topic... I think this fight would be close to if not the biggest PPV if marketed correctly!

Brock did though.

With the right marketing to the biggest fanbase in MMA, Fedor as the GOAT(at the time) vs. Lesnar the biggest draw in MMA history. Lesnar/Fedor would have been a massive success on PPV.

PPV prediction.

2 million PPVs

Fight prediction.
1st round GSP takes Anderson down as The Spider intentionally wants to test his strength.
2nd round GSP attempts another takedown this time The Spider knees em in the face and ends it or hurts em with GSP holding him down to regain composure while The Spider continues to rain elbows from the bottom and locks in a body triangle. Crowd is roaring!
3rd round GSP is visibly shaken still, but game. This is where Anderson pours it on raising his hands to get the crowd going. Now, it's time...to enter the matrix and the world of Anderson "The Spider" Silva.

As much as I'd like to see five full rounds I simply do not think it will happen. It will be at least two to three rounds.

Maybe because he was actually a good fighter instead of an over hyped joke , it's not that complicated to understand Fedor sold out places in a second rate organization while Brock sold out places with fake UFC hype behind him.

If Anderson lost he would probably retire. It isn't like there is a line of PPV buyers for Silva/Weidman, so I don't see the difference. GSP woulld win by 5 round decision. People wouldn't think much less of Silva if he lost that way. The same people would still tune in to watch him wreck fools at 185.

My prediction of PPV buys is 1.5 Mill. That fight would get so much hype behind it.

800k to 1.2mil biggest fight in MMA history for sure but the biggest drawing ? Probably not. UFC 100 had so much hype around it and a number of big fights that I don't think that would be beat and with the slowdown that mma is currently in I'd think be happy with that .

I'm more curious as to how much bigger people think Silva/Bones would be than Silva/GSP.
