Cheick Kongo, Stefan Struve shooting for fight in February

UFC heavyweight Cheick Kongo’s name recently came up in connection with the decision to turn down a short notice match-up with Roy Nelson in December. While the move had some fans questioning his heart, Kongo quickly made it clear he simply wanted a full camp to prepare for his next opponent and certainly wasn’t afraid of a stiff test in the cage.
Further supporting his case, Kongo recently went on Twitter to challenge Stefan Struve to a scrap and “The Skyscraper” eagerly accepted his offer.
“It would be very exciting for the fans & a great challenge for both of us,” wrote Kongo to Struve, mentioning UFC 156 as a possible destination for the duel. “Let’s do it!”
“I’m in! Great fight for sure. Let’s see if they got a spot left for us then,” exclaimed Struve in response.
UFC 156 is scheduled for February 2 but already has a number of pairings seemingly set for PPV including Alistair Overeem-Antonio Silva, Rashad Evans-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Jon Fitch-Demian Maia, and Frankie Edgar-Jose Aldo. If the event does not work out for Kongo-Struve, another logical choice given each man’s European roots could be a yet-to-be-announced card linked to February 16 in London, England.
Kongo (18-7) is coming off a decision win over Shawn Jordan and has also beaten the likes of Matt Mitrione, Pat Barry, and Mirko Filipovic. Comparably, the 25-5 Struve has finished 23 of his foes and has emerged from the Octagon with his hand raised in a quartet of consecutive clashes.

Would be great fight, and would make an already amazing card in UFC 156, that much better!

Could be a good fight, Kongo has terrible TDD so I doubt Struve would have much trouble taking him down and subbing him.

A Battle of suspect chins. I like it.
I pick Struve by some sort of choke. He's actually looked pretty good as of late. Kongo.....not so much.
