If Rory MacDonald beats Penn, where does he go from there?
Considering MacDonald has expressed time and time again he has no interest in fighting GSP, and GSP looking to be dominate champ for the foreseeable future, where the hell does he go next?
Is he just going to be the gatekeeper for GSP taking out any title contenders coming his way? I'd like to see him get his rematch with Condit but realistically where do you see him in the future?

Right now, I say let him develop. Wasn't his last win Vaughn Lee? BJ Penn isn' even a top 10 WW. I say work him slowly.
That said he is going to have to move up if GSP isn't going too. But he is still young and still growing.
If he beats Penn I'd like to see him vs. a decent wrestler. Ellenberger comes to mind. Or Kos.

If he smashes Penn like he has the last few guys he's faced... Give Him a top teir wrestler and see how he does. If he smashes that guy.... No where for GSP to run..

His last win was Che Mills, he's beaten Mike Pyle, Jordan Mein, Nate Diaz, Mike Guymon, and Clay French. Vaughan Lee is a BW who got messed up by TJ Dillashaw.
As for who he should fight next...
Ellenberger, Kampmann, Woodley, or Marqaurdt.
He's likely two years away from a title shot thanks to the log-jam and GSP wishy washiness. I think the best thing for Rory is to be the UFC divine sword of righteousness. Anytime a fighter is in the top ten and he really shouldn't be there sick Rory on them.

He should never be given a top guy if he doesn't want to fight for the belt. You give him a guy like Ellenberger, Fitch etc and he derails them, what happens next? Nothing. The division just lost one more contender. He should be stuck fighting the Mike Pyles and BJ Penns of the division.

Lol. Vaughn Lee, Che Mills. Same thing.
Wonder if he would be down with fighting Marquardt? That would be a pretty good fight.

I think the better question is will he find the will to live on when he's laying in a pool of his own blood, FOX executives are scrambling as first time viewers look at the horror scene inside the octagon and Joe Rogan loses his mind as BJ Penn licks his blood off his gloves and walks out of the Octagon the baddest mother****er alive.
I'd like to see him fight Tyron Woodley or Nick Diaz, but I really hope BJ slaughters him.

The WW division doesn't need to worry about losing "contenders" they have plenty of those. Also the guys you are worried about being "derailed" like Fitch and Ellenberger they did just lose to Kampmann and Hendricks.

Rory has lots of upside, but IMO his stand-up is still a very obvious work-in-progress; Mills was giving him all he could handle.
Until he develops that, anyone with good TDD and decent striking will give him fits.
Maybe Fitch next?
