Duffee returns.

In a move that's come out of nowhere, Todd Duffee has been welcomed back to the UFC, as the Las Vegas Sun reports that he'll step into the slot at UFC 155 vacated by Matt Mitrione against Phil De Fries.

Duffee, who scored one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history in his debut in 2009, was released just as fast after his first loss in 2010. After a third round KO loss to Mike Russow, he was knocked out by Alistair Overeem in Japan that December.

He returned to action in April of this year in India, taking out UFC and Bellator vet Neil Grove in just over 30 seconds at Super Fight League 2. He now gets a chance at redemption in the UFC after Mitrione moved into a fight against Roy Nelson.

Did anything official ever come out on why he was released? Supposedly it was a dispute over pay or something along those lines.

Dana hated him, but he was one of the lowest paid guys on the roster and he got screwed out of KO of night against Tim Hauge and FOTN against Mike Russow. He was also injury prone so bringing him back is good?

He will always remind me of Mortal Kombat...

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

Decent re-addition to the HW division. I'm never against that.

I assume he'll fight Russow again presuming they both beat their next opponents.
