(audio) Joe Rogan explains fat ref and Lance Bass comments

You know, fair enough. I'd say his reasoning is correct but his intent when he said it was simply for joking purposes, but at least he admits that.

Joe is a funny guy but he can't talk his way out of this one (not that anything would ever come out of it). You can't look at someone and tell if they're in shape or not. It'd be different if the guy was wheezing and trying to catch his breathe walking up the steps into the octagon but come on. Look at Roy Nelson lol. He looks like a slob more or less but is actually in pretty damm good shape. I know guys who are 265+lbs (with beer bellies if that's what you wanna call it) who can pound out 2 miles in 15-20 minutes whereas someone who ISN'T in shape can't run a mile.

Just saying

Joe is the man.

Is it just me that thinks that the ref wasn't that overweight?

Idk man, physical form is a pretty good indicator. To a degree. Someone's who's a little pudgy might actually be a powerhouse. Someone who has to reel their gut in over their belt...will not be.

You don't get to be that fat without eating like crap. Eating like crap affects your athleticism greatly. Having excess weight hampers your athleticism. I guess its POSSIBLE that someone that big is actually a dynamo -- vaguely possible -- but it's anomalous. As such, I'd it's pretty safe to make assumptions about his physical condition in such an extreme case.

I thought it was funny... That ref was awful anyways.
