Nick Diaz Wants Main Event Fight When He Returns; Still Targeting Georges St-Pierre

“Nick Diaz is a main event fighter,” Diaz’s manager and trainer Cesar Gracie told MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday. “He wants main event fights.”
In a perfect world according to Gracie, Diaz would return to the UFC and face St-Pierre right away with the UFC welterweight title on the line.
Diaz and St-Pierre have no love lost for each other, and both competitors still appear interested in settling the score inside the Octagon. Last weekend during St-Pierre’s return to action against Carlos Condit at UFC 154, Diaz tweeted that he was not impressed by the champion’s performance.
St-Pierre fired back during the post fight press conference by saying, “I did better than Nick did against Carlos (Condit”. St-Pierre defeated Condit by unanimous decision at UFC 154, while Diaz lost to Condit at UFC 142 last year.

Got to be honest, Id be happy to see him fight GSP in a main event as his comeback fight. that's the fight Im most excited for at WW.
Does he deserve it? No. Will it happen? Probably.

Dana loves Diaz so he's probably getting a fast track to the title shot. I'd say 1 W and it's GSP-Diaz.

Where'd you get that impression? Diaz pretty much ruined a press conference and scuttled an event, and IMO is pretty anti-establishment to be Dana's favored type. |

Diaz vs Hendricks would be awsome. Such an intriguing matchup.
That insane one punch KO power against pitterpatter + iron chin. And not that I see it going there but high level wrestling against high level BJJ. I wanna see this fight so bad. GSP mauls them both tho so I'd like to see this fight before one of them are fed to him.

Can't really say, just got the impression. I think Dana sees dollar signs when he looks at Nick, despite the media hassle that comes with him. Nobody loves the Diaz brothers more than the powerful Joe Rogan however. |

Yeah Rogan is totally a Diaz brothers fanboy. Top level JJ + good pot, pretty much all you need to be in Rogan's good books lol. |

Normally I would say no way he gets to fight GSP on his return fight but then again Sonnen is fighting for the belt in a higher weight class coming off a loss with no other people who deserve the shot way more than him so I will keep my mouth shut.
At least Diaz is near the top of his weight class and there has been a lot of hype for this fight for years. Still think Hendricks get the GSP fight and then Diaz if Nick can stay sober that long... that is a big if though.

Guy suspended making demands. So full of sh!t, Nick.
I agree Dana probably hates him, but sees the upcoming profit more than anything.
One thing will be nice, to see Nick frustrated for being rag dolled for five rounds against GSP.
