STOCKTON — UFC Lightweight title contender and ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Season 5 Winner Nate Diaz shared some news on Wednesday that might surprise some of his fans – he’s releasing a six-volume anthology of his own poetry. “I get so worked up in the gym boxing with Richard [Perez] that I gotta let it out somehow. [Nick] likes to mountain bike or whatever, I write poetry.” said Diaz in a recent interview.
The fighter, known for his aggressive style and high-level jiu-jitsu, shows his softer side in this poem excerpted here, titled “Life in the 209″:
Sometimes I throw down like judo
Or fight no-rules like vale tudo
I’ll fu|ck you up if you come to the 209
Don’t be asking dumb questions and wastin’ my time
Nick and me get robbed of decisions
I’ll triangle Benson with mad precision
Talk shit and I just might hit you
For life it’s Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu
The first volume is expected to be nearly one thousand pages, published under HarperCollins and released exclusively in bookstores within the 209 area code.

I chuckled.
Move over old Diaz brothers
The new Diaz brothers are in town
And in case it's not obvious
