It's really not that different than the Rashad/Jones situation, Rory is GSP's protege and I don't think Rory has a problem with waiting for 'his time', he's young, he's got plenty of years ahead of him and he's a big kid already at 23 he walks around at 200 lbs, more than Georges does, he's probably gonna be fighting at Middleweight in a few years so he's wise to just groom himself under Georges and Firas, he already has the Tri-Star jab down and his striking looked on point against BJ.

For now though, he's at 170 and I think he should fight Koscheck next.

Yeah that and the reaction when Anderson let Bonnar punch him were hilarious, don't see how people got so offended by those.

I'd love to see him fight Diaz most of all but since it seems he will be fighting GSP even tho he shouldn't be, then I say match Rory with Ellenberger, after that we will know where he's really at.

Then after Diaz loses to GSP, make a rematch with Condit & have Hendricks fight for the title.

I think it's very different from Rashad/Jones. Rashad wasn't the champion, I don't even think he was the champion when Jones joined the camp. Rashad made a choice not to take fights and protect his "brand" which hurt his coaches. Jon Jones was a sure thing champion brought into the camp and really he and Evans only had a year together.

GSP/MacDonald is more like Miletich/Hughes. GSP is the champion but he's also more of a coach/mentor to Rory and Rory can wait. Rory was built up by Tri-Star and he really doesn't want to leave the camp which as GSP is the champion(and an active one) will happen. If/When GSP ever loses the title Rory is right there to challenge the guy that beats him.

If he isn't going to fight GSP then he really shouldn't be fighting contenders.

The Condit fight makes a lot of sense though. He should fight Condit and maybe a guy like Kos to see how he does vs. a wrestler. Then he should move up if GSP is still champ.

At 185 good fights would be, Belcher, Lombard, or Okami.

I'd like to see Rory face the winner of Fitch/Maia.

Any other division I would say yes, but they have such a glut of guys at 170 knocking out contenders is a good thing.

GSP already has five potential title fights lined up (Diaz/Hendricks/winner of Maia/Fitch, Marquardt and Anderson Silva), that's 2+ years of matches. Let Rory play the gate keeper for the WW title for the next 2/3 years, build him up as a PPV draw and transition for GSP.
