He did earn my respect, I don't know why I didn't much before but I really watched this fight close, he impressed me the way he handled nate and I see no reason not to give it to him.
That stands for me regardless of if he gives thanks to Jesus or his bubble bath soap...
He is still a good fighter.

I've always liked him as a fighter & his attitude in general. Full respect there. The religion pimping thing I can do without, though. But that has nothing to do with how I view him as a fighter. He's great.

People used to laugh at the thought of Bendo being a top 10 LW when the UFC first swallowed up the WEC. How the tables have turned.

I used to be one of them, but seeing him against Nate, he really looked just like GSP a few days before, dominant all through the fight, he looked like those great champions. Maybe I still have to watch him do that a couple more times. it could happen. the LW division is stacked but Nate was arguably one of the bests it has to offer right now and he got ragdolled the whole fight, I think a judged scored one or two rounds as 10-8s which is impressive for a fight at this level

What dirty tricks have people used to beat them before? Wrestling, leg kicks and footwork?

Honestly, who cares if he thanks Christ for his win in his post fight speech. Why the hell does that bother some people?
He can believe in what ever the heck he wants to believe in, and if he wants to attribute that belief as a large part of his success as a Mixed Martial Artist then what is wrong with that?
It amazes me that people can "hate" this guy because he praises his Christianity in a post fight speech. I really think it's just sad that people would hate a guy for that.
And no, I don't believe in God myself either, but I can respect what ever Benson wants to believe in, ******* leave the guy alone.

I don't necessarily care that he believes in God. Live and let live. But I can't help but have a laugh when he thanks Christ, as though Jesus would give a hearty thumbs up to his breaking a fellow man's face. I guess that's religion, lol.

The "Can I get an Amen" bit is absolutely hilarious. It's certainly no reason to hate on the guy though, he seems like a nice, harmless (the irony lolz) person.

I certainly gained a ton of respect for him last night. Bendo looked awesome and it was actually a really technical performance. Very fun to watch. What more can we ask for as fans?
