Who would win these rematches today?
I like to do this kind of thing. Humor me if you will.
If they happen today, who wins the rematch? BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez- let's make this a 162 lbs catchweight fight Benson Henderson vs Anthony Pettis Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva- let's make this a 195lbs catchweight Andrei Arlovski vs Roy Nelson Carlos Condit vs Rory MacDonald Dan Henderson vs Rampage Jackson |
Penn over Sanchez - I have never been a fan of Sanchez and even though Penn looked like **** on saturday, I still think he'd find a way to win against a fighter who is not that great.
Henderson over Pettis - Without question Henderson has improved more than Pettis has since they fought, and it's not like the fight with Pettis was a blowout or anything. Silva over Henderson - Self explanatory, Henderson hasn't really gotten better and Silva has proven he's been as dominant as ever lately. Nelson over Arlovski - Honestly don't trust Arlovski's chin at all, and with one of the best chins in the business (Nelson), this fight would likely go Nelson's way. Condit over Rory - While Rory looked like a beast, I'd say Condit is a better fighter overall and would eek out another win. Henderson over Jackson - Jackson is done. Period. |

I'm biased, but I really think BJ will take it. BJ has only lost to top welterweights. The difference in skill is way too big. However, if it is a five rounder, Sanchez may be able to steal it by being the aggressor. Benson Henderson vs Anthony Pettis The 1st fight was a really close fight, and I think Benson takes it this time. He has looked like a whole new beast since the 1st fight. Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva Silva still looks as good as ever. Silva by TKO round 2. Andrei Arlovski vs Roy Nelson Unsure about this. Just depends on who is able to land the perfect punch first. I think Arlovski will. Carlos Condit vs Rory MacDonald MacDonald was so close to beating Condit the first time round. I don't think he was laying a beating on Condit in the first and second round, but he was winning the fight. Rory has shown immense improvement and he would prove to be the better fighter this time around. Dan Henderson vs Rampage Jackson Rampage is on a downfall. He looks slow as of late. His striking defense is still very good, but if Henderson can time that bomb again, I think Henderson will get the TKO victory. |

Good topic.
BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez- let's make this a 162 lbs catchweight fight I like Sanchez better, but probably Penn. The closer to 155 it is, the better chance Penn has of winning. Benson Henderson vs Anthony Pettis Bendo as he's been on such a role lately. Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva- let's make this a 195lbs catchweight You can't pick against Silva. You just can't. Andrei Arlovski vs Roy Nelson Nelson because an infant breathing could KO Arlovski. Carlos Condit vs Rory MacDonald VERY tough call. I love Condit and don't like Rory but so tough. Sliiiight favor towards Rory but it's just so close that I hope they fight again. Dan Henderson vs Rampage Jackson Hendo because anyone with remote TD ability would beat Rampage if they wanted to. And neither would get KO'd I don't think. |

Penn over Sanchez: It would be a less dominant win like before. Sanchez doesn't have good enough wrestling to take Penn down.
Benson over Pettis: this one is tough. Pettis has kicks of his own and more athleticism than Nate. But Bendo would mix in TDs this time and win a decision. This will be a great fight though. Anderson over Hendo...come on... Roy Nelson over AA: AA's chin is gone. Rory over Condit: I hope not. But Rory will continue to get better and stronger. He should have won the first one. Hendo over Rampage: Dan's weapons are still effective. Rampage hasn't brought his hands in a while. |
Penn vs. Sanchez
Depends on if it's 3 rounds or 5. With 3 rounds BJ should be able to win the first 2 rounds before fading in the 3rd. With 5 rounds Sanchez will be able to use his cardio and pace to gas out BJ and take the last 3 rounds. Bendo vs. Pettis Benson takes it. The first fight was pretty even until the Showtime kick sealed the deal. Since then, Benson has gone back to the drawing board and come back much improved. Smarter, better skills, better everything. Pettis hasn't really progressed since those days. Hendo vs. Silva Silva wins it however he wants. He might just clown Hendo before putting him away with a highlight reel KO. Arlovski vs. Nelson Nelson takes this one easy. Once you hit Arlovski he either falls over out cold or gets panicked and becomes easy pickings. Condit vs. Rory Mac This one's a total coinflip. Both fighters have improved hugely since their first fight, both of them are animals and stone cold killers. I think this one comes down to who's having a better day when they fight, or who gets the lucky break. Hendo vs. Rampage Hendo takes this one. Rampage checked out after his final fight with Wandy. Hendo still comes in to put a beating on people while Rampage is just there for the paycheck. |
Penn/Sanchez - Penn, though god knows what this loss to Rory has done to BJ.
Benson/Pettis - Henderson, though I think they will have a trilogy and when it's all said and done Pettis will come out on top. Anderson/Henderson - Anderson, I don't know if Henderson will ever fight again. Rampage/Henderson - Henderson, but even on one leg I would take him over Rampage right now. Nelson/Arlovski - Nelson, I think Arlovski gotten over his terrible chin but I still think Roy would win. MacDonald/Condit - Macdonald, I think Rory gets the finish in under a round, I think Carlos is going to get the post-title hangover. |
I have a strong feeling most of you haven't seen AA's last 3 fights or so, or even any fight post SF. His chin isn't near as bad as most of you make it seem. It has taken some solid shots recently.
