I like Martinez. I have to say though, Bruce is the man. His personality and voice is so ingrained into the foundations of the UFC it would be a bit weird if he got replaced full time by Joe Martinez. That being said, I think Joe is a talented announcer and I'm not totally averse to some of the ideas brought forward by members on this thread.

I like Martinez and whatshisface from Showtime. Jimmy Buffet or whatever, they give a nice old Boxing vibe.
But when there is a fight that i am hyped for, i want Buffer. then again, sometimes i just want him to get on with it.

Buffer vs Martinez
I am a huge Bruce Buffer fan. Love the energy and enthusiasm he brings to announcing UFC's fights. Hearing him announce "We are live..." is the best way to kick off the night's fights. Bruce has a signature sound and style that sets the UFC apart from all other promotions.Joe Martinez is much more generic and does not convey the passion of Bruce Buffer. Buffer knows how to get the crowd hyped and ready. I especially love when he announces Dan Hardy! They have a fun chemistry that shows both men's love and appreciation of being in the octagon. His personality exudes fun and excitement, helping to pump up the fans and fighters as well.
