Rustam Khabilov UFC Debut Of The Year...

Damn son that was some crazy Russian sambo skills. Beats Jimmo's debut with his wicked display of "high altitude suplexes!"

Reminded me of Dan Severn vs Mad Dog Macia.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Gunnar's was the most impressive all things considered.

This was a really strong year for debuts

Khabib Nurmagomedov, Fabricio Werdum(maybe), Jamie Varner (maybe), Glover Teixeira, Francisco Trinaldo, John Lineker, Abel Trujillo, Jimi Manuwa, Gunnar Nelson, Siyar Bahadurzada, Stephen Thompson and Rustam Khabilov.

If you ask me to rank the top ten and we'll asterisk Werdum I would go

10.) Francisco Trinaldo
09.) Stephen Thompson
08.) Jimi Manuwa
07.) Abel Trujillo
06.) John Lineker
05.) Gunnar Nelson
04.) Khabib Nurmagomedov
03.) Rustam Khabilov
**.) Fabricio Werdum
02.) Glover Teixeira
**.) Jamie Varner
01.) Siyar Bahadurzada

Rustam Stephen and Gunnar were impressive but they were against punching bags. Varner and Werdum were very impressive but they were redebuts. Glover's had the biggest effect on rankings. Lineker lost but it was FOTY in my eyes. In the end I would give the nod to Siyar for just knocking the holy hell out of Paulo Thiago. It was the first and only time Paulo's been finished and it was devastating.

+Rep for being a very good topic.

Amazing though. And yeah I've not seen that many suplexes in a fight since the Severn/Mad Dog fight too. This is even more impressive though. Severn was at least 3 weight classes above that little Muay Thai dude.

His twitter is honestly the greatest thing I've ever seen.

It's a bunch of random ass numbers and it turns out he follows Usher, Jennifer Lopez, and Oprah.

Damn you watched that fight too. That was a terrible massacre. I was rooting for Mad Dog Macias, but he got locked in the clinch/bear hug then it was over. Khabilov actually KOed em. Vicious.

Sambo is like a combination of judo/bjj/and wrestling it seems like. I've never trained it, but they seem proficient at multiple arts. Arlovski and Fedor are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

It's pretty neat when you see seldom used moves in fights effectively.
