I prefer Joe's reaction everytime he grabs someoes leg. Mainly the Belcher fight, Joe sounded like Belchers mom.

Hahaha, yeah me too.

I always get the impression Palharres is too dumb to ever make it past the level he is at at the minute.

I used to tell myself the same thing. I sooo wanted Paul to be a good fighter. Something to go with his lunatic quirks. To complete the package.

So, I said "He's a great fighter. He's just a bit stupid."... sounds better then "hes a bit rubbish, innit?"

But now, I'm not sure he is that skilled. He's obviously excellent in pure BJJ competition. But in MMA? Naa.

End of the day, when you recall a fighters best moments in the cage... and the only ones that come to mind are brain-fart moments of pure lolz... thats not a very good fighter.

Yeah I feel the same way. I thought he was an overall better fighter and the hick ups were just that, but at one point you have to think ok maybe I was wrong about him. Still fun to watch though and that GIF will be forever hilarious

The dude might not be beating top guys, but he's submitted Ivan Salaverry, beaten Jeremy Horn, crushed the knees of Tomasz Drwal, Mike Massenzio, Lucio Linhares and Dave Branch, had a back and forth fight with Hendo and beaten Dan Miller. He doesn't have a great deal of success against the top guys, he's 0-4 in important fights against top guys, but I do honestly think that's due to his fight IQ and lack of heart, not a lack of ability. We'll see, I'd like to see him put together a good run, whether it happens or not is yet to be seen.

Palhares can be fixed he isn't damaged beyond repair but I think he really needs to get some proper guidance under the nogueira brothers and training partners at blackhouse too, his gameplans aren't great and when his leg locks don't come off it's over for him mentally and you may as well count the fight over for him, he could have beat belcher and hendo and marquardt and lombard if he wasn't so lacking of self esteem that the only way he could win a fight is by leglock.

I don't doubt Lombard would have won either way, but at least this explains how bad Palhares looked.
