Matt Grice Meets Dennis Bermudez At Ufc 157
Quote:
A featherweight bout between Matt Grice (16-4 MMA, 2-4 UFC) and Dennis Bermudez (9-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is the latest addition to February's UFC 157 card.
UFC officials today announced the fight.
UFC 157 takes place Feb. 23 event at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.
Grice vs. Bermudez likely will be part of the prelims.
This past year, Grice rebounded from a 1-3 run in his first UFC stint with four consecutive victories on the regional circuit. That earned him a ticket back to the UFC, where he dropped to featherweight and suffered a vicious TKO loss to Ricardo Lamas. However, after a yearlong layoff, he scored a decision victory over Leonard Garcia at UFC on FX 3 back in June.
He now meets a fellow NCAA Division I wrestler in Bermudez, who dropped to featherweight after a runner-up finish to Diego Brandao on "The Ultimate Fighter 14." Since then, he's picked up back-to-back wins over Pablo Garza (decision) and Tommy Hayden (submission) in the UFC. The latest victory, which came via standing guillotine choke, earned him "Submission of the Night" honors.
The latest UFC 157 card includes:
Ronda Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche - for women's bantamweight title
Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida
Urijah Faber vs. Ivan Menjivar
Lavar Johnson vs. Brendan Schaub
Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler
Neil Magny vs. Jon Manley*
Court McGee vs. Josh Neer*
Mike Chiesa vs. Anton Kuivanen
Manny Gamburyan vs. Chad Mendes
Dennis Bermudez vs. Matt Grice

Not a chance bro, Bermudez has a chin from hell and that guy is an absolute monster when it comes to his takedowns, he was tossing Garza around like a sack of potatoes. I think he's gonna mash him up for three or get a TKO stoppage.
