TBH i never clicked the other thread about Henderson and this. So i kinda am guilty of just assuming that it was Henderson that was complaining about women headlining. I thought it was a bit out of character but at the same time i can see Hendo being pretty old school and people back in the day would probably see this as an insult. (I dont know... maybe... im sure some people would)
So yeah this thread helped clear that up for me. And the "Damage Control" by Henderson worked.

Then you shouldnt call it staged. People are gonna think you are saying that the fight will be scripted or something. And this is MMA fights are never 100% certain.
That said Dana White did say that buncha fighters turned down the fight. And they WERE trying to make the cyborg fight happen. Probably would have happened too if it wasnt for Ortiz.

Rousey is BIGGER than Cyborg and her first at 135 was against Tate( for the belt!!! even if she never fought in that division, some would think that Ronda slept with somebody to pull it of) and for her second fight she literally had to starve herself to make weigh.
She always fought at 145 and kept her dirty mouth shut before Cyborg pissed hot. Now that she's found a way to duck Cyborg she pretends that Cyborg is afraid of her which is nonsense, not everybody can have the Dolce diet.

Still probably would have happened if it wasnt for Ortiz. Cyborg said she would be willing to make the weight.

I like having a female division. A lot of exciting matchups but I dont think the first fight should be a headliner. It needs to earn its respect to elite UFC level to start headlining cards just like the LW division a few years ago. We need more fighters in the female division to add credibility and then the UFC can put it alongside all the other divisions. It has less credibility then Strikeforce which gave us amazing fights like Carano/Cyborg, Coenen/Cyborg etc.
Hendo and Machida are legends and fought from Japan to USA. They should be headlining this card. Rousey deserves UFC level recognition but first the UFC needs to cement the female division with competitive fighters.

Even though staged is not the right way to put it, there is no getting away from that Carmouche is getting fed to Rousey. If the UFC really pushed for it, they could likely get the Cyborg fight for the card, but the UFC wants to show Ronda getting a W on the big stage. Ronda is far and away the most marketable fighter in the division, and without her Dana almost surely wouldn't have bothered introducing the female division.

205, 185, 170, 145, and 135 all have or, had dominant Champs since Cruz's future is in the air, Heavyweight will likely have another one and people still pull out their wallets to watch those champs, so what makes the Women's division different than those?
I mean, does anyone really believe Bisping can beat Silva? Sonnen can beat Jones? Diaz can beat GSP?

I believe Hendricks can beat GSP and so does GSP.

You're the only one.
I've said a few times that I'd rather see Hendricks fight him just because he has wrestling and one punch KO power, things Nick doesn't have but neither guy has a good shot of beating him.

Hendricks doesn't have much of a chance. He has power sure. But technically speaking, GSP will outclass him everywhere as he will against Nick.
