Chris Lytle contemplating return - "Would probably come back for a Nick Diaz type"

ďYou know, there always is [an interest in fighting again] and it never really left me, but the reason I kinda retired was I just wasnít putting in enough time in the family and I just canít commit myself to that kind of training anymore where Iím gone at all times every time, so, you never know. I always say if maybe something came up with a guy I want to fight, something happens to his opponent like a week out I might take that, so that could happen. Barring that? No Iím not, Iím not going to go back to training full time.Ē

ďNo, I donít really care about [it being a title fight], itís more about the type of person, you know I want Ė thereís a few guys, you know man like a Nick Diaz type guy who, I like Nick I wouldnít really want to fight him, but maybe something like who, I like the way he comes forward to fight you, to punch you in the face and take you go out and just go the whole time and doesnít really care about a decision. Thatís the way I am, so, guys like that, you know, I always like the way certain guys like that fight. Maybe like a Carlos Condit, something like that those type of fights interest me. But, you know, those are kind of big fights that I donít see happening unless their opponent pulls out at the last minute and they need somebody.Ē

Love watching Lytle fight. I dont think he has anything to prove. Would never think he wasnt tough. Had great fights. If he wants to come back though I can see why he wants the big fights but still think he needs to earn them too. But whatever. Great guy, great fighter to watch for high octane fights.

I think Lytle vs Diaz would be an amazing fight to watch.

Always been a Lytle fan.

But if he couldn't commit himself then? How would he now? I don't think he should get a top name like that coming back. I like how he went out last time.

I'll watch him fight any day though.

Lytle is possibly my favourite fighter of all time, but I'm not sure how you can possibly top the way he went out last time. Was such an epic retirement fight.

Few fighters ever get the chance to have an "ideal" ending to their career, Lytle went the way he deserved, on a major high. He shouldn't sully that moment trying to get one more piece of glory. I doubt it would go his way.

Agreed. He should see what happened with BJ Penn. I dont think both times was the way he wanted to go out. Lytle had his storybook ending. Just temper that flame Chris.

This.

Not many fighters leave at the top of their game and I believe Lytle did.

As much as I'd enjoy a fight between him and Diaz I think some things are better left alone.

I don't doubt for a second that Lytle would contemplate returning for a pay day like that.

I hope they sign it. Has technical grappling match written all over it.

A Nick Diaz type, sure, but hopefully not Nick Diaz. Diaz would obliterate him, and I really like Lytle.
