Serra is boss. In the GSP fight he didnt just land a lucky punch, he landed a hard shot which dazed GSP and swarmed GSP for like 10 seconds with successful GNP and killer instinct to finish the fight.

Haha, I hope those members train.

I agree with Serra that Layman shouldn't disrespect the fighters but if Layman has spent some decent time striking instead of just BJJ all day in his life then I believe he can be an expert. Coaches should all be experts!

I haven't fought yet but I consider myself somewhat of an "expert" on MMA.

Not at all... is there a way to transfer Serra's personality to Rory MacDonald?

I didn't used to like Serra, mainly because he beat GSP, but his feud with Hughes won me over. He comes across as a really likeable guy and he's a great coach as well.

So many write off Matt Serra's win over GSP as a fluke.

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/11/8...g-mma-analysis

For those too lazy to read the article, Serra went for right hooks to the body which made GSP lower his guard, and when Serra actually went for the right hook to the head, GSP's hands were expecting a bodyshot. That ultimately lead to the finish.

I always enjoyed Serra for his exciting style. He was definitely undersized at 170, but he finished GSP and had a good fight with Hughes. Those are bragging rights for anyone. He was always a really underrated fighter which is a shame.
