After watching Cain vs Jds last night, do you think heavyweight fights should be just 3 rounds championship or main event?.

Heavyweight fights don't tend to last it into the later rounds but when they do, they are F*****. These guys are 250 pounds, that's a lot of weight to carry around for 5 rounds and what we end up with is 2 zombies. Last night I knew Cain would beat Jds but what shocked me the most was his Cardio. Please don't start with the.... It's because he gained muscle comments. Bottom line Cain smothered and set the pace very fast and would not let go, I really felt for Jds after round 2.

Point is do you think heavyweight fights should be just 3 rounds? Do you think we would see better performances with 3 rounds?,

No effin' way.

These guys are PROFESSIONAL athletes. They need to fix their stupid cardio problems or else they risk losing in embarrassing fashion. Disappointed with JDS. He should have been more prepared for the high paced high pressure style Cain was going to bring. Poor showing from him.

I'm with ya, JDS did not look good at all. But I highly doubt it had anything to do with lack of preparation. JDS trains with the elite, including Cormier who is an absolute monster in the grappling dept. I honestly think Cain was just too much for JDS with his wrestling and constant pressure. At first Junior was stopping all those shots, but then Cain just kept coming and coming and coming. I think Cain might be one of those guys that you just can't completely prepare for no matter how hard you train and who you train with. He is just that good.

All championship fights should be 25 minutes.

I wouldn't be upset if it went back to the old rules though, where non-championship main events are still only 3 rounds.

Having non-championship fights go 5 rounds doesn't feel right to me. It made those championship fights just a little more special, before every main event went 5 rounds.

what i was gonna write!
3 round fights often leave things unsettled and may result in a "fake" result.
Imagine if shogun vs Dan was a 3 rounder.
What if Lauzon versus Miller was a 5 rounder? I see Lauzon catching Miller in some kind of sub.

I don't agree with extending the rounds, 15 minutes is plenty of time and I don't think I could have put up with ten more minutes of Leben/Brunson.

I'm satisfied the way it is currently. It makes being a main event fighter special, whether it's a championship fight or not. Plus, non-championship main events are usually no 1 contender fights anyways, which allows the challenger to get prepped for a 5 round fight.
