Early Stand Up Okami vs Belcher
 

I was watching the fight with my brother and we both thought it was a crazy stand up when Okami had side control on Belcher, did anyone else think this as well?

That was atrocious.

However, nothing could have stopped Thunder last night, this is a man who in the build up to this fight came face to face with his own mortality thanks to the mother of Chael P. Sonnen. Yushin has seen the worst that the Mean Streets of West Linn, Oregon has to offer. That ref could have done 1,000 stand ups and Yushin would have just took him down 1,000 times. He was in a word, unstoppable.

Normally standing a guy up in side control like that would throw me into a rage. But Okami was literally just lying there.

He went into that fight with a plan to do nothing, and he implemented it perfectly for the 'win.'

I disagree, Okami had just gotten to side control when it got stood up. While he hadn't done much up to that point, from side control he has a lot of options opened up to him, he wasn't given the time he needed to execute them.

He almost got dropped right after the stand up. It would have been pretty annoying if he had lost because of that stupid stand up.

Yeah, that was a pretty bad stand up. Plus Belcher got his striking going right after it so it could possibly have changed the outcome of the fight like when that ref took away side control and a kimura from Big Country against Arlovski.

A stand up in side control is never good, regardless of what the fighter on top is doing.

I thought their were quick stand ups the entire night during all the fights. I was actually getting all rogan in my living room.
