Is Cormier the uncrowned champion.

The UFC is sort of in a tricky position now with Daniel Cormier, he's just signed with the UFC and should hopefully debut around may but in what devision?. I love Cain and ime made up he's the champion but I feel pretty bad on Cormier if he drops. Cormier is Cains wrestling coach and a more decorated wrestler than Cain, I'd say they were pretty evenly matched on the feet and it's got me thinking if Cain vs Cormier ever happened (which it won't) would Cormier win?. And if so that means Cormier should be the champion. Ime a Cain fan and ime not to sure what would happen between the two.

They spar 3 times a week, i'm sure they are about even, Cain has a more diverse attack on the feet and probably has better BJJ. Either way I think they are both taking eachother down on a daily basis.

So yeah Cormier's hands are better but I think Cain's kickboxing coupled with the pressure and pace could get the better of DC over 5 rounds.

They know eachothers games inside and out, i'd really love to see them spar.

I am guessing he will try LHW. I know he had trouble cutting before but he sure looks like he would be more suited for LHW. I would really like to see him fight Jones. I think Jones might be too much for him though. Would still like to see it.

Sparring doesn't really mean anything. Bones and 'Shad both said Rashad would get the better of him in training on some days but then when they fought Jones was the one who won the fight.

To be fair, their last sparring session was atleast 18 months prior to their fight. Bones is young and his skillset grows at an exponential rate.

I think Cormier would beat Cain right now. may be a good one, but he would win.

Cain wouldn't be able to take him down. Cormier very well may be able too.

Cain is a little more explosive and has kicks. But I think Cormier's hands are better.

Cain would beat Cormier due to his style being slightly better adapted to an MMA environment. His overall MMA wrestling is better than Cormiers, his striking is better and the big difference maker between the two is Cains cardio and relentless pressure. After a round or two Cain would probably overwhelm Cormier and eventually start beating him up pretty bad. I think you can tell from the way Cormier reacts to in interviews about Cain, that he realises Cain is the better fighter. It almost seems that despite Cormier being Cains wrestling coach, that he kind of idolises Cain and looks up to him as a fighter. He understands how much of a freakish talent Velasquez really is.

That's not a knock on Cormier though, he is a monster and would probably plough through the rest of the division. Cormier has been calling out Jon Jones for months now, so I'd bet that he already has his move and diet down to LHW planned out for an inevitable show down with Jon Jones.

It's an interesting fight and I think Cormier is one of the bigger threats to Jones out there, but again, Jones has Daniel beat in pretty much all areas. Jones' wrestling is better tailored towards MMA, I don't think he'd have much trouble neutralising Daniels wrestling in the cage, and when it comes to striking he could be able to pick him apart with his diverse striking arsenal from range.

For some reason I still dont rate Cormier. I have no basis for that he just doesnt impress me for what ever reason.

Im expecting him to lose his first few fights in the UFC.

No.

Cain is by far the more well-rounded fighter.

No, not even close. Cormier still has a lot to prove.
