UFC 155 SALARIES: DOS SANTOS, NEW CHAMP VELASQUEZ TOP $1.261 MILLION PAYROLL

Win or lose at UFC 155, heavyweight Junior Dos Santos took home a disclosed $400,000 salary.

As it turned out, Dos Santos lost, allowing new champ Cain Velasquez to retake his belt and bank a disclosed $200,000 at the event this past Saturday, which boasted a $1.261 million payroll. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) on Monday received the list of disclosed purses from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

UFC 155 took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Main-card fights aired live on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

The event drew a reported 12,423 attendance for $3.286 million live gate.

Other top earners included lightweight Jim Miller, who co-headlined the event with a barnburner fight against Joe Lauzon. He not only took home $82,000 for the fight, but he and Lauzon also picked up an additional $65,000 for "Fight of the Night."

Additionally, middleweight Yushin Okami took home $84,000 for a second rout of Alan Belcher, who had been in the running for a title shot before dropping a unanimous decision to the Japanese vet.

The full list of paydays from the 12-bout card include:

Champ Cain Velasquez: $200,000 (includes $100,000 win bonus)
def. Junior Dos Santos: $400,000

Jim Miller: $82,000 (includes $41,000 win bonus)
def. Joe Lauzon: $27,000

Constantinos Philippou: $36,000 (includes $18,000 win bonus)
def. Tim Boetsch: $37,000

Yushin Okami: $84,000 (includes $42,000 win bonus)
def. Alan Belcher: $37,000

Derek Brunson: $30,000 (includes $17,000 win bonus)
def. Chris Leben: $51,000

Eddie Wineland: $30,000 (includes $15,000 win bonus)
def. Brad Pickett: $17,000

Erik Perez: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)
def. Bryon Bloodworth $6,000

Jamie Varner: $24,000 (includes $12,000 win bonus)
def. Melvin Guillard: $42,000

Myles Jury: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus)
def. Michael Johnson $14,000

Todd Duffee: $16,000 ($8,000 win bonus)
def. Phil De Fries: $14,000

Max Holloway: $24,000 (includes $12,000 win bonus)
def. Leonard Garcia: $20,000

John Moraga: $22,000 (includes $11,000 win bonus)
def. Chris Cariaso: $12,000

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. They also do not include portions of the pay-per-view revenue that some top-level fighters receive.

For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $65,000 UFC 145 bonuses to Duffee ("KO of the Night"), Moraga ("Submission of the Night"), and Miller and Lauzon ("Fight of the Night").

In other words, the above figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

That is CRAZY! I didn't expect JDS to have such a high base salary. Lauzon's base pay is pretty low, though he probably gets a bunch of backstage bonuses. Brunson took home quite a bit for a newcomer.

Really surprised that Varner and Holloway are on the same pay scale

Yup, probably because Varner returned to the UFC being 5-4-1 in his last 10. Probably still on the same contract. He is surely gonna negotiate for a payrise soon enough though.

I hope so, I really like Varner. Don't think he's going to be champ but he must be great to coach, nice tight boxing defence, good wrestling. Not stellar in any field but very well rounded

What's with the endless salary discussions? When I googled UFC 155 hoping for results, half the talked about salaries, not how the fights went.

It's the same in movies: people seem to be more interested in box office than the films.

JDS getting that Lesner Money( more than Andy Money).

And lol at repeated roid junkie offender and one dimensional fighter Leben making $51,000 while Lauzon only made $27,000.

these numbers are not telling the truth for PPV matches.. Andy and GSP are paid better than anyone else in UFC..

Junior probably got some fat checks from his sponsors, Nike and that soccer team both sponsor Anderson.

Lauzon must be in the middle of a looong ass contract, he should at least be getting 50,000 even though he's not a top ten guy or anything. Never seen a boring Joe Lauzon fight in my life.

There's a whole UFC section full of discussion over the fights and the aftermath.
