UFC PPV buys in 2012 vs. previous 5 years (with numbers)
This is all per Dave Meltzer:
2007: 10 shows, 4,660,000 buys, average of 466,000
2008: 13 shows, 6,885,000 buys, average of 530,000
2009: 13 shows, 7,755,000 buys, average of 595,000
2010: 15 shows, 8,970,000 buys, average of 598,000
2011: 15 shows, 5,950,000 buys, average of 397,000
2012: 13 shows, 6,025,000 buys, average of 463,000
2009 & 2010 were killer years obviously. 2009 had UFC 100 and then 2010 had two Lesnar title fights and the Rashad/Rampage fight. 2012 was better than 2011 but on total buys (two less shows) and average.

I wonder how many people stream the PPVs... I'll bet it's more than twice as many that actually purchase it. The PPV model is such a stupid idea in this day and age.

That's pretty crazy considering both 147 and 150 were the least bought PPV's in some time.

Also how many Fox, FX and Fuel cards this year ? thats a lot of free fights cards. Shows that 2012 wasnt as bad as the media has made it out to be.

There was some things IMO that were legit complaints. We did have the lowest selling card in years that was a pathetic excuse for a PPV. The same kind of lack luster card suffered an injury to the main event and was the 1st card canceled in the Zuffa Era. It was an incredibly weak card outside the main event and got exposed. UFC also had some very questionable fight selections for FUEL cards with the most questionable being Munoz vs Weidman considering how big that fight was for the division. Had that been a co-main event on a PPV then Weidman likely would have received a title shot. Munoz was going to get his shot if he had won that fight and that alone should have put it on a card that allowed more eyes to see it. Just some of the questionable moves by Zuffa that I consider to be legit questions.
However I think you are correct with the media over hyping the fall of PPV #s. The # went up and down based on opposition(other sports) at the time and who was on the card. Big dogs still pulled in the numbers and overall people continued to tune in.

I'd imagine it's for all the sports bars, pubs, and lounges.

I broke down 2009-2012 for any card over 500k buys, as you can see Rampage, Evans, and GSP cause major jumps when they fight.

It's pretty lame to make a statement like that with absolutely nothing to back it up... that probably reads like more of a A**hole statement than it's meant to sound, but seriously... are you just guessing?
