Not exactly sure where you get that at, Sonnen was just stopped by a middleweight, Cormier is a top five undefeated Heavyweight.

Keyword here is Heavyweight! He has no business getting a Light Heavyweight Title shot considering he is a Heavyweight Fighter. It doesn't make sense for Cormier getting a title shot because he has not established himself as a Light Heavyweight fighter. Hell, he hasn't even established himself as a UFC fighter yet. Rampage had at least one fight in the UFC before he fought Chuck for the title.

I agree, Hendo, KZ, and Hendricks should be getting title shots not Frankie, Sonnen, or Diaz but I'm not the match maker so it doesn't really matter what I want or think.

Problem with part of it to is there are no contenders people are excited about anymore. Henderson is an old man, machida already lost, Gus isn't ready. The sf hw gp winner and former Olympian cutting down to face the champ is more marketable till somebody can establish themselves as a real threat

I agree, of all the fights you mentioned DC is the one I would be most excited to see. I get people complaining about the Chael fight, that is just wrong, but DC is a undefeated Stikeforce champion after all.
Disclaimer: I would prefer they give him a contender fight, but I don't see it as a big issue.

So I guess the trick to getting a title shot is ask for one at a division you've never been in?

Am I the only 1 who did not totally count Cheal out?
I mean after all, he is the ONLY 1 who gave P4P King Anderson Silva his toughest challenge to date (yes...I know is at MW and he got finished). Cheal is a fighter that doesnt mind getting hit to hit his opponent. Jones won't be able to use his reach to keep Sonnen at bay and it will be interesting to see how Jones deal with Sonnens relentless takedown.
But like many of you, I think he dont deserve it yet considering he hasn't fought in that division since coming in to the UFC. But it will be an interesting match up nonetheless.
But to keep the contender system relevant, it will be good if the winner to Hendo/Machida get the next shot. Follow by Cormier (give him a 205 test fight) and finally Gustafsson (whom in my opinion still hasn't prove he can deal with an elite wrestler whom Jones definitely have the credential)

Anderson can't wrestle, Jones can, Jones has also shown he'll pull guard and go for flying triangles(albeit at the end of rounds) I imagine he'll actually go for a flying triangle and try to go for it instead of just showing off like he did with Rampage and Rashad.
I would love it if Chael one punched his ass though.
