Fabricio Werdum: JDS failed in Jiu Jitsu
"Cain entered with a very certain strategy, secure, and with a very strong mental game. I never imagined that this fight would reach five rounds. I believed that Cigano was going to get a punch in because Velasquez was going forward, but he was impressive because he took him down and pounded on the top. It was an impressive presentation of the Mexican. Overall it was very clever. Cigano failed in Jiu-Jitsu, but this is a difficulty for many athletes in MMA. They have difficulty staying on the ground below. Everybody get's up and gives their back, don't have confidence to pull a guard, grab an arm, they only think of getting up. But Cain put a strong pace and managed to hit Cigano in the first round. Losing is part of the game, it's normal. Everyone will talk about this or that, but Cigano is a guy who trains hard and showed it yesterday because he continued there for five rounds. It is very difficult to keep momentum up that way for five rounds. People are going to speak that he did not train hard, but we know the dedication of Cigano"

Fabricio is a good guy, can't wait to see Cain fight him though.

Give me a moment in the fight that Cain had JDS on the ground and pounding him for 30 seconds?

Its a shame who the media is describing the fight, and how they are fooling people with wrong idea's!!!

Just as Cain's last quote that he played smart not seeking the KO/TKO!!! Man you fu*****ing couldn't knocked out that JDS, not yesterday, not ever!! Be a champ and sportsman and say the truth, not say lies, as if you were a person who can knock when you want!!!

I think Cain had the oppertunity and skillset to finish, but he was afraid of matching up with an empty gas tank as preseving his was his whole strategy. On the ground and in the middle rounds, he never committed where he could have finished it.

That being said, I wouldnt fault JDS' BJJ from this. He wasnt there. By the time he was concious enough to be able to sub someone, he has zero in the gas tank. Not a think. He threw one or two punches but not even his mind was there. The only things to note to me were Cain's strategic genius and his lack of grappling skills versus his wrestling skills. He's stilla beast and JDS has good enough BJJ.

Cain is smart and there's a reason he can push that pace, he's not gonna come on throwing bombs and gassing him self out. I really think if Cain wanted to he could finish anyone.

I actually agree with this, and that's exactly why I don't like Cain. I will never support fighters that play it safe, espcially when they are talented as he is.

^Cain isn't playing it safe. His strategy involved jumping in at JDS and pushing the pace on the feet...against maybe the best puuncher in UFC history. It was just his strategy not to turn into Gray Maynard and gas himself out to a loss. If JDS was beating him in cardio, Cain might not have had a chance in that fight.

What depletes your gas faster?
1)Keeping your opponent pinned down and drop bombs and elbows until he quits or pass out or
2)Keep taking him down repeatedely, being unable to keep him down, get up again and repeat all the process all night long?

Cain could not finish JDS tht night because he just could not. He stating he chose not to finish is BS.

^I agree he would have had problems finishing it on the ground. He simply didnt have the grappling skills to hold even a zombie JDS down to land much GnP to finish it. But on the feet he had PLENTY of oppertunities to finish it, and probably could have. JDS was against the cage trying to Anderson Silva his way out of shit and was just getting smashed. Cain then switched to wrestling to avoid losing stamina and risking getting tagged. If he had kept it standing, I think the ref would have stopped it, regardless of JDS' heart.

After the initial right in the 1st round which badly hurt JDS Cain tried to end it with hammer fists but JDS wouldn't go out, however he did proceed to give JDS the beating of his life for the next 4 1/2 rounds.

Stating Cain did'nt try to end the fight is just another wild made up excuse.
