JDS wants Cain Velasquez next!
Quote:
So after one of the most one sided beatings in recent MMA history Junior dos Santos (15-2) would now like a rematch with the champion Cain Velasquez (11-1) The only problem is…. Does dos Santos deserve an immediate rematch. You can go back and forth with the yes’s and no’s but 1st of all it’s unfair. Velasquez had to wait his turn and defeat Antonio Silva, before the chance arose to face dos Santos. We can all understand dos Santos’s need to show something better then he did, we can understand his need and want, to fight for the belt again so quickly. In my eyes his fight does not warrant a 3rd fight so soon, in recent history the only guys who received instant title rematches were Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson. In the case of Frankie fighting Benson the fights were so close that not even the boss Dana White would say either way who won the fight…. Those kinds of fights need instant rematches!
look in the case of Chael Sonnen, in 2010 Sonnen took Anderson Silva 4 and half rounds in which he was the “Cain Velasquez” in that fight. He owned every second right untill he left an arm out and Silva was able to slap a triangle choke on Sonnen. That fight deserved an instant rematch hell they should have fought the next weekend. Instead Sonnen had to wait for 2 years and beat 2 more fighters to get his long awaited rematch. Dos Santos’s fight with Velasquez was no were in the same ball park as Sonnen vs. Silva. That isn’t to say something crazy could happen and dos Santos vs. Velasquez could happen, it just shouldn’t happen. Yes the Heavyweight division does lack “Top” contenders but there are two guys ahead of you at the moment and they fight very soon. Feb, 2 at UFC 156 Alistair Overeem will take on Antonio Silva in what will likely be a number one contenders bout. The winner should get Cain and the loser should get Junior!

I think that JDS at least needs to beat 1 decent opponent before he faces Cain again for the title. Maybe JDS vs. Overeem, if he beats Silva.

Nah, Dos Santos doesn't deserve an immediate rematch - no way! He needs to do what Cain did and get at least one win under his belt before he challenges for the championship. The HW division isn't exactly deep, so as you said the winner of Overeem Big Foot or maybe a Werdum rematch if he beats Nog would grant him another shot.

Any interview in which JDS says he wants Cain Velasquez next?
JDS definitely doesn't deserve an immediate rematch though. That was a lopsided fight.

Overeem Vs Bigfoot for the title shot.
Werdum Vs Nogueira or JDS Vs Struve/Hunt for the next one, running on a Machida/Shogun type of "Most impressive gets it" deal.

On the off chance that Bigfoot wins, you want to put him back in there with Cain? Poor Bigfoot.

Title eliminator maybe. Not shot. Bigfoot would get a kicking again. Title eliminator would make sense though. Overeem wins, gets the shot. To be honest, can't see Bigfoot winning so it might aswell be a number one contender fight! Not sure what JDS is gonna do. He won't ever fight Bog Nog for obvious reasons. Werdum could end up being slightly competitive but I'd say JDS wins his fairly comfortably. I got Struve to beat Hunt but would a JDS fight come a little to soon to for him? Struve has a great future ahead of him but he has developed a little slowly, I reckon. Seems like he's been around for eons but still hasn't broken that top 5 yet. I believe he will though and he should be a beast in 2-3 years time.

Sorry I meant for Overeem (in response to people saying JDS Vs Reem). If Bigfoot wins, then give Nog/Werdum the title shot.

JDS needs to fight alteast one other fight before he can get a title shot again... especially because of how he was dominated in his last fight.
But I do think JDS deserves to fight for the title again.

Seems like all we have been hearing about is that JDS wants Cain...no shit! Point is, JDS needs to beat a top HW in decisive fashion first.
