One thing people don't get about the Anderson/Maia fight is how ridiculous intense the rivalry between teams in Brazil can be. Anderson never been a bully. Even though he likes to make a show, he is not known for bullying opponents. That fight was an off the chart display by the Champion that went totally out of proportion because the event was highly anticipated in Abu Dhabi, before so many authorities and Royal family members. So, basically, a domestic Brazilian dispute between two teams made the whole event a fiasco, embarrassing Dana and the UFC. Anderson did not realize what he had done until the heat started to increase under his arse following that day.
