JDS: "I lost because of personal issues and problems with my kidneys and urine"

Quote:
"UOL Esporte: And what happened? Why did you perform so poorly in comparison with your previous fights?

JDS: It was really my head. I had some personal things going on, some of my attention was missing because of that. And there's something else. Right after the fight, I went to the hospital and took an exam that revealed that my creatine [level] was very high. The normal is for it to be up to 300 and mine was at 1,400. I also had problems with my urine and kidneys."

If someone can translate anymore interesting info for us, thanks!

My somewhat educated guess is he was overtraining and that's why his creatinine levels were high.

1400 is very unusual for a normal one time urin sample.

Reminds me of when Carwin claimed he had lactic acidosis.

Isn't Creatine a supplement? Does this not mean he's had too many creatine shakes?

All joking aside, I don't like his excuses..

Yeah, there are supplements containing creatine but your body produces creatine on its own. It acts like an energy cell for your muscles and once it's used it gets flushed out through your kidneys as creatinine. High creatinine usually means your muscles have been stressed.

well well well I guess my crazy theory wasn't so crazy after all about JDS being in bad shape, this either proves one of 2 things my theory was right or along or 2 brazillians have an inability to admit they lost just because they weren't as good as the other fighter and nothing else.

Stressed as in like you've just fought a 25 minute exhausting heavyweight title fight?

Man, JDS is one of my favourite fighters. I wish he wasn't taking the bullshit excuse route.

Earth to UFC_OWNS

75% of the time when a upper echelon fighter loses he has some kind of excuse. So your "Crazy Theory" isnt crazy because excuses are becoming a normal thing these days. They might be more common then even injuries

But seriously... it isnt a stretch to claim a fighter was injured or ill or whatever these days. Its more surprising when a fighter says "I was 100% and lost because he was better then me that night".

My favorite line is

"Im not making any excuses but i only lost because my toe hurt. If my Toe didnt hurt i would have won by knock out. Still though no excuses... he got the better of me that night"

Personally i wish JDS didnt say anything and just took it out on his next opponent.

Though i also wish that Mike Swick had some excuses regarding his loss BUT he didnt. That made me proud but also sad since i couldnt hold on to anything to get me through this dark time. Atleast i still have this to help me get by

in the jds vs cain thread people were saying I was crazy for saying jds was out of shape since round 1 and would make excuses, so my beautifully long winded post is a homage to those

Cain beat JDS because Cain was the better fighter. Bullshit excuses, surprised at JDS actually.
