Back on point, if Diaz lucks his way into GSP injuring himself somehow in their fight, it still makes no sense to feed him to Silva. For starters, Diaz isn't a household name to anybody but hardcore fans and potheads. He has absolutely no positive legacy to his name. Jumping Mayhem, being suspended a couple times for being a stoner retard, coming across as down syndromey anytime he has a camera in front of him is not a legacy to be proud of. He doesn't have the name to be a part of any kind of superfight and he never will. And..., I think every single person that isn't a pothead retard, Diaz's entire fanbase, knows that there is absolutely no ******* way Diaz has a hint of a joke of a chance against Silva. Dana isn't stupid, he knows that if he makes that fight, he'll lose his biggest cash cow for the stoner retard demographic.
I'd have to disagree that Diaz isn't a household name. Or maybe i'm misunderstanding what you mean by household name, but I know that a lot of my friends who are casual fans know who Diaz is. I personally think he's just as known than Bones Jones or JDS(at least in the US).

And lol at Diaz's entire fanbase are pothead retards. Ever think that maybe they are a fan of his because for the past decade he's been putting on exciting fights.

Agree about everything you said about Diaz.
Disagree about what you said about Diaz fans, though.

Depends on how he beats GSP, hypothetically speaking. If by some miracle he puts on a dominant performance and gets either a finish or a one-sided decision then I have no problem with Diaz getting a fight against Anderson Silva.

But if he squeaks out a decision or somehow pulls a win out of his ass after getting the shit beat out of him for the rest of the fight, then no. If that's the case he can either rematch GSP or defend his belt a few times against other contenders before he even thinks about a fight with Silva.

I think you meant Silva.

So you're saying if Nick beats GSP (who has held the WW belt all these years and is considered to be in the top 3 today, pound for pound), he needs to fight these dudes first to justify a superfight with Silva?

"Congrats for beating GSP. Want a shot at Silva? Go through Rory first!" Makes no sense sir.

mma-girls has a little shameless behaviour in the past
The way most of you speak so condescendingly about Nick Diaz just shows your ignorance and bias. All he's done is win on a consistent basis at every level in his MMA career. I'm not even a Diaz fan but hell I have to give respect where respect is due. The kid can fight.

To say Nick basically doesn't even stand a chance against GSP is laughable at best. Even with Nick's notoriously bad record against fighters with exceptional wrestling. I believe he has what it takes to be able to compete and possibly beat GSP without question. He hasn't fought a single fighter with any type of wrestling background in at least half a decade. So to say that he can't compete with one would be a huge assumption. Because you're basing it off of fights that happened like 6-7 years ago.

To answer the question about the possibility of a superfight with Anderson Silva if Nick wins. I don't think it's a good idea. I don't see Nick having much of a chance in that fight. Just like I don't see GSP with much of a chance vs Silva either. Silva's striking is far too superior for Nick and Silva's size puts GSP at too much of a disadvantage for him to be competitive.

The only fight anyone should entertain in regards to Anderson Silva is Jon Jones. Physically it's the only one that makes sense.

Nick Diaz won't beat GSP. He's going to get schooled like his brother did against Benson.

How can the Welterweight Champion not be a household name? Not only is he one of the most talked about fighters around, despite losing his last fight, but if he won the title wouldn't that alone put him on the map as a household name?

He can't be a household name because he doesn't respect the house, house occupants, house rules and house leader and his disrespect is the main reason he is talked about a lot. Do you see Matt Serra as a household name, inspite he is a former champion and a cool dude?
Nick is a good fighter at the best, but UFC as an institution is rooting against him for the reasons exposed. So how he could be UFC household name even if he beats GSP? How to replace someone like GSP, a noble fighter and UFC poster boy for Dick Niaz?

You've turned this into a business discussion now. I couldn't care less if Diaz does what he is told or not. I couldn't care less if he doesn't "respect the household". I'm a fight fan. I leave the business side of things to the businessmen.

And I personally thing anyone on the planet holding at UFC title at that moment in time is a household name in MMA. Matt Serra was everywhere in the MMA world for KOing GSP. He might not be a household name now but by the same logic, neither is Royce Gracie. Demetrious Johnson would probably be the least popular current UFC Champion, but if he hadn't lost to Dominic Cruz, and wanted to move up and fight himm I'd consider that to be a big champion Vs champion super fight.
