For Dos Anjos, Bocek and Njokuani are respectable wins but Varner and Guillard are much higher up in profile and rankings. Also Dos Anjos lost to Tibau who has lost every time he's taken a step up in competition (Khabib, Miller, Guillard, Stevenson, Griffin).

Lauzon may not be "winning more" than those guys but his losses are to top ten/five guys. Dos Anjos is still a year off from making the top ten in the division, Lauzon is arguably already there.
Let's be honest here. Joe beat a heartless Melvin, he is popular because he is a TUF alum who is entertaining. His overall resume is not more impressive then RDA or Tibau and realistically he shouldn't be ranked higher. He is more well known, has put on more memorable fights but his recent resume is not any better.

No one said he had to be on prelims or the opener, but is he main eventing PPV's? No, is he going to co-main event a PPV? Not a stacked one, he can headline FX and Fuel but FOX or PPV? No. He's simply not that good, he's exciting as hell but he's not top ten imo.

I agree completely. Good fighter, very entertaining fighter, popular fighter. But plenty of guys out there better then Joe.

He's popular because two of his fights this year where FOTY, he gets bonuses, and he's a fairly likable guy. As for his resume not being "as good" that's highly debate-bale.

Dos Anjos 7-4
Tibau 11-6
Lauzon 8-5

All three UFC records are fairly even, but for Lauzon three of those loses (Pettis, Miller, Florian) were to top five guys while neither Dos Anjos and Tibau have even had a top five fight yet.

Seeing as how half the UFC events are FX/TUF/Fuel main eventing those cards is still main eventing. Are Dos Anjos and Tibau main eventing FX and Fuel? He's also main evented against Florian have either of those guys reached that level of competition where they are fighting title eliminators? He may not be in the MMA top ten but he's in the UFC top ten that's what wins over Guillard and Varner get you. Even if they were "heartless".
