There is no stopping the MMA train now. As a kid I recall watching WWF with tremendous fanaticism. As I got older and realized how much of a fake show it was, my interest faded and moved on to other real sports.

MMA, especially UFC has brought back that childhood passion for pro-wrestling. I suspect it strikes a similar cord with others.

In a world of reality TV, UFC is very close to merging that genre with the appeal of pro (fake) wrestling. The TUF series has even brought the background drama to the picture. I couldn't help but think about the switching of good to bad by WWF guys when I heard the crowd voraciously boo Shamrock and cheer Ortiz at 61.

I'm telling you, WWE is in trouble and I have a feeling that within 10 years, MMA will also take over boxing. As it is, UFC has bolted to #3 on my list of favorite sports behind football and basketball. I can say the same thing for many of my friends twenty-something friends.
this I doubt Wrestling appeals to fans that MMA never would. now I am a fan of both and watch both when I can. Not going to give up one for the other... plus Wrestling is leagal in areas NHB and MMA style fighting is still considered dangerous.. While I can see MMA taking over boxing.. Its not gonna make it disappear.. WWE I doubt really see UFC as actual competition.. Vince knows UFC is getting popular so He is going to cash in on its fame and make money for his company.. I do think vince needs to step back and let Shane take over or someone else who understand the younger generation a bit better. But I do not see the WWE going anywhere for a long time
