Gunnar Nelson Now Faces Jorge Santiago at UFC on Fuel 7
Gunnar Nelson Now Faces Jorge Santiago at UFC on Fuel 7 in London

A change has been made to the upcoming UFC on Fuel card headed to London with young upstart Gunnar Nelson getting a new opponent.
Nelson was originally slated to face Ohio fighter Justin Edwards, but an injury has forced him to drop off the card.
Now the Icelandic fighter will instead face former middleweight contender turned welterweight Jorge Santiago, as he returns to the UFC after exiting the promotion for two fights.
Santiago comes back to the Octagon after originally signing with Strikeforce in 2012 after deciding to drop to 170lbs, but he never actually got to fight there before the promotion closed up shop earlier this month.
Currently riding a two fight win streak, Santiago hopes to steal some of the thunder currently surrounding Nelson as one of the most hyped young fighters to sign with the promotion in a while.
Nelson vs. Santiago will face off as part of the UFC on Fuel 7 card headed to London, England on Feb 16 at Wembley Arena

Finally Jorge is back. He never should have been cut anyways.

This feels like a one and done fight for Jorge, terrible match up for him, overseas likely a prelim fight against a huge prospect. If he loses he'll likely be cut.

I think this as well. He came in and went 0-2 and was cut. I can't imagine they would keep him if he comes back and loses again.

It's not that he's 0-2 he's 0-4 against Leben, Belcher, Stann, and Maia. And now that he's dropped to WW they are giving him another guy that hits very hard on his home field advantage. It's one thing to fight a high level of competition it's another to face high level guys that are stylistically bad fights for you.

I hope to god they both embrace bjj in this fight. It could be one of the most exciting grapplih matches in UFC history... But It could also be a dubious kickboxing match too!!

I can see Nelson embracing BJJ as he's still young and new to the UFC, so he doesn'z (yet) fight as tactically as other fighters who try to avoid the grappling ground.
