Hendricks has earned his shot. He finished Fitch and Kampmman, both of whom should've never even had to fight Hendricks because they too had earned title shots themselves. In either case, that is enough of a case for Hendricks to be considered the real number one contender, but it's the UFC's fault for not marketing him better.

I've always like GSP, but he's ducking Hendricks. For starters, I don't really remember Hendricks/Kos, don't really care, but as for who won, who gives a shit what he believes? It's in a books as a win for Hendricks. GSP is just being a self righteous douche.

"Oh, despite what is on record, he lost that fight, so I'll fight a guy coming off suspension after losing."

GSP is smart and he knows the easy fight is Diaz. Hendricks is a legitimate threat and he and his camp know it. I've always like GSP because of his skills. But..., recently he's been nothing but a pompous idiot. I'm starting to wanna see him Bispinged by anybody. Sure the hell won't be Diaz, maybe Hendricks when GSP stops ducking him.

I agree with this also makes me wonder why Dana lets the fighters pick and choose??? If Hendricks is due then let them funny will it be if Diaz kicks GSP's butt?

Hendricks will get his shot. Relax everyone... sheesh.

The fact of the matter is 90% of fans, the sponsors, the media, GSP, Nick, and Dana all want to see this fight over Hendricks. I'd wager most casual fans haven't even heard of Johny Hendricks.

This is an entertainment business first, after all.

I don't think GSP is scared. But at the same time, if I'm GSP, I'm worried about Hendricks power. Hendricks beat Fitch in 20 seconds, the same Fitch that GSP grinded out 5 rds with. And it's not like GSP looked invincable against Carlos Condit. Carlos came very close to winning that fight and winning the belt. If GSP gets hit by Hendricks power, it's lights out. I think it's pretty obvious that he's picking the more favorable match-up, along with taking care of some unfinished business while promoting the fight by convincing everyone that he's motivated to finish the fight, in which case we don't know that he isn't truly motivated.

But hell, even Nick Diaz himself said he thought he was going to have to get a win before fighting GSP for the title.

All in all, like I stated before, GSP is a business man first that cares more about preserving himself as champion. And if he REALLY cared about big money fights, he would fight Anderson Silva.

GSP is going to fight Hendricks anyway. Fighting Diaz first is better for his career imo cause thats going to be an exciting fight most likely. So thats 2 exciting fights in a row and probably a boring fight against Hendricks. And TBH risking losing the fight against Diaz would be stupid. Who knows if Nick would have won his next fight and then GSP would lose this opportunity. So this was the smartest move for his career. And he always admits that he is going to do what is best for his career.

Guys common really? It has nothing to do with the #1 contender he is just saying that to justify the fight. Money as well for GSP im sure is not the issue. He just wants to kick the shit outta Nick Diaz he really really wants to give him a beating that is all. Hes not ducking Hendricks its not money he just doesn't like Diaz because of what Diaz said and how he acted and he just wants to beat him that's all
