"GSP is ducking Hendricks" - Said nobody with any sense, ever.
Why would the most dominant WW champ in UFC history duck Jonny Hendricks? GSP has beaten a LOT better fighters than Jonny Hendricks over the years.

Perhaps "ducking Hendricks" was not quite the right phraseology in my earlier post. Do I think GSP is hiding from him? The simple answer is no. I guess a more accurate way of saying what I think would be that he is superseding whatever fragmented semi ranking structure the UFC has, and that's what irks me about this whole thing. A champion shouldn't be allowed to pick a fight with a guy coming off a year long suspension, and a loss prior to that when there is a guy on a nasty (except the Koscheck fight) 5 fight win streak waiting in the shadows.

Oh yeah for sure.
It's the fact that people are insinuationg by saying 'ducking' that GSP is somehow 'scared' to fight Hendricks that I was getting at.

It bothers me too, but unfortunately it's the way the UFC is now. If it isn't the fighter choosing the "wrong" opponent, it's Dana. It drives me nuts. But remember, it's not just GSP - it's simply the way things are now.
For the record, I'd rather see him fight Hendricks first. But I guarantee he'll still fight him anyway. And I bet that if GSP didn't ask for Diaz, Dana would have made the matchup anyway.

GSP ducking Hendricks is a matter of fact - for what reasons, that can be debated. Ducking the contender for an easier night for more money... its still ducking.

MW is a mess right now, if Weidman had not got injured i would of been calling for that fight even more, as it is....he failed to establish him self above the pack. Also Silva talks a lot of random bullshit all the time...i take anything he says with grain of salt until something is signed.

The fact of the matter is 90% of fans, the sponsors, the media, GSP, Nick, and Dana all want to see this fight over Hendricks. I'd wager most casual fans haven't even heard of Johny Hendricks.
This is an entertainment business first, after all.

This is where I have a problem.
I get why Nick got the title shot, there's a rivalry, Nick will talk trash and that will sell but Hendricks is not a boring fighter, not by any stretch of the imagination, this guy's got some brutal knockouts on his record and over serious guys. GSP battered Fitch for 25 minutes, Hendricks only needed 12 seconds to get him, Kampmann's been hit by Ellenberger, Alves, Daley and Marquardt and Hendricks was the first guy to put him out cold clean and he needed less than a minute to do so.
How is that NOT entertaining? Again, I get why Nick get's the shot, that's fine but people are acting like Hendricks just wrestles guys, that's not the case, he's a guy with real one punch knockout power and that's easy to promote.

In your own little world of delusion a champ shouldn't be able to pick a fight. But you don't run the UFC. So who are you to say what should go on and what shouldn't?
It is sad that people are still nuts over this. I never seen 5 pagers on how Chael got a shot over Hendo. Even though that was a bigger slight.
Get over it, Johnny Hendricks finally has.

It's called an opinion. You dont have to like it but there is no need to be rude about it.
