Wow! 5 consecutive Sylvia backlash-backlash posts in a row!

I am also not Tim's number one fan, but I am baffled by the reaction to him. You can't say his trash without disrespecting the opponents he has beaten and who have beaten him. The fact is he has beaten some great fighters, and a couple of great fighters have put on amazing displays in order to beat him (Randy especially).

Maybe my favourite bizarre anti-Tim reaction is the "I hate him because he doesn't have a six-pack" reaction. I mean... WTF? Is this MMA or gay porn? Personally I thought it was MMA.

Anyway, I'd love to see Sylvia come back, and there's no reason to think he won't. Not many fighters can put together and execute a game plan like Randy. Anyone who can't do that has to fight a massive, experienced guy with a long reach and accurate, powerful striking.

Repped for that one! Your exactly right. It doesn't matter if he has a six-pack or not just as long as he can fight.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

looks got nuthin to do with it... imho

BJ Penn aint got the greatest physique... but he got mad skillz and heavy hands... that said...

I never liked Tim because IMHO I felt he epitomized the notion of being "plain ol' big" + "mediocre skillz" was enuf to be champ...

BUT, just like Damone said, the talent pool just got bigger in the UFC, so lets see how he fairs now.

Im giving him a clean slate, lets see how he fairs vs some talented fighters...

In my book, hes got everything to gain and nothing to lose now. If he loses, hes no better off than he is now... if he starts winning against these new people... I'll start eating crow for all the trash talk

I just shed a tear. I said something nice about Tim Sylvia (kinda nice) and no one jumped down my throat. Not even one ignorant bash post. ) I think Tim could still be a good fighter, he should fight Mirr. You're right. That would be a great chance for him to get his mind back in the right place. There is a little rivalry. Plus he'd want to avenge one of two unavenged losses (albiet a brutal one) and he'd want to knock Mirr out. Plus in Mirr's present condition he could F*cking kill him. Then he'd come back hungry to fight randy and he could say "Randy is my only unavenged loss, I gotta knock him out".

i'm not sure I understand. His record is 23-3 and he is the former UFC HW Champion. How can you day he doesn't get any wins? Also you didn't even mention the topic of this thread.

I myself am quite anti-tim but i feel that it doesnt disrespect his defeated opponents because i dislike not for his unexciting fights or his lack of amazing physique but because of his mindset and his lack of courtesy towards other fighters. From what i have seen he doesnt really seem to respect his opponents at all and therfore I feel no need to give him any respect. You are absoluetly right that he has beaten some great fighters, but it sometimes seems like HE doesnt feel that they were so incredible, that is he doesnt give them the credit they deserve.

Having said all that, I very much hope that this loss begins to change some of Tim's problems. I think if he regains his hunger then his fights will be more exciting and he will regain fan support. But also, I hope that his loss to Randy is somewhat humbling and he learns to respect his opponents a little bit more.

I did not say he never wins but randy took his manhood Tim should go fight somewhere else and get some wins under his belt and I would really like for someone to kick the crap out of hong man choi because if Tim does not win his next UFC fight its over for him

Oh, I understand now. But I don't think he can leave UFC, contract mumbo jumbo. They'll just give him some B-level opponents to build him back up. If he can knock them out and be exciting he'll get fans again.
