I do think Jones is still learning and becoming even better than he is now, but I also do think though that he is going to legitimately lose once in the process.
If there are no injuries which stop his career, there is little doubt he will be remembered as a great one, but I'm sceptical whether he will surpass Silva. And what I'm even more sceptical of is, while he is a great and dominant fighter, if he can become such an incredible artist like Silva.

...Jones is a special talent that comes along few and far between but Jones is thinking WAY too far ahead on this one. What a bold statement. I'd bet the house that Jones will get stopped before reaching Anderson's record. Kinda stupid statement he made considering he's the youngest champion ever. MMA has evolved into a complete fight game. Young assassins are out there in other divisions like Rory, Johny. JBJ is the top dog of the new breed but they are having coming out parties left & right. You got Gus lining up for a shot at Jones. Lyoto is still very much in the mix for a rematch. Vitor still wants more. Chael is climbing into Jones' head for his next fight. You have new, already experienced killers like Glover T, who will shake up the LHW division as well as Cormier if he drops to 205. The divisions just keep on stacking. I love it...
P.S. I forgot Hendo wants a piece of Jones too...

He already has wins over Shogun, Rampage, Machida, Rashad, Vitor, and he'll probably beat Chael.
I don't believe Hendo will beat Machida so I'll say, he fights Gus, Cormier, and Glover and beats them. I'd say a title reign with wins over Shogun, Rampage, Machida, Rashad, Vitor, Chael, Glover, Gus, and Cormier is better than Anderson's reign even if Anderson goes on to extend it, the worst opponent in Jones' stretch is probably Vitor, who might be Anderson's best win.

Cormier will end that dream rather soon.

That is a dumb way of looking at things. Yea 205 has all the names so that means they are awesome.
So Anderson's reign is way better than GSP's because GSP's best win ever is what? Hughes? Penn? And Anderson would wreck both. Vitor, Sonnen, Franklin, Okami, Marquardt would beat both.
Rampage was over the hill and is now basically done. Shogun was beaten by Forrest Griffin and went 3 grueling rounds with 60 year old Mark Coleman.
I'm not disagreeing that Bones may have better title defenses. But your argument is stupid. Because LHW has been a revolving door for years all these guys can call themselves "former champs". When Anderson has RAN 185...so virtually no one he faces can be called FORMER CHAMP. Names aren't everything. 205 will always be overrated because they most names come from there, and it is the perfect weight to keep people interested. Big dudes, but athletic enough not to look like slobby HWs. Can't compare smaller guys to bigger guys like that either.

Silva possesses incredible talent that hes sharpened over the years.
JJ is more of an athlete and a physically DNA gift. He has no where near the talent that Silva has.

I agree with this. Anderson is in a class by himself for now. JBJ may ascend to his level someday, but he is not there yet. He tries really hard to appear humble, but I'm not convinced.

You get so butthurt over everything.
Look at who Jones has beat, look at who Anderson has beat.
So far, Jones' title reign doesn't include a Thales Leites, a Travis Lutter, or a Patrick Cote, all the guys Jones has beat are Champions, legends, and big names.

He certainly has the potential to do anything.
That said, he is unlikely to break Silva's records if he stays at LHW. The division is (and always has been) the most volatile and competitive in MMA.
(LW may actually be the most competitive now that I really think about it - idk...too subjective)
You have vets like Hendo and Machida in the mix; new blood like Guf and Glover up and coming. Add the MWs that can move to 205 and the HWs that can as well: you're looking at a loss eventually.
A few years ago, a move to HW would have him solidified as the top HW, in the UFC at least (Fedor would have remained ranked above him in most polls).
Now - HW is pretty stacked too.
Short of a miraculous (and well timed) move to MW, Jones will not be breaking Silva's records.
Thoughts?

Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones is the best match-up the UFC has ever been able to arrange. Here's to hoping it goes down.

Anderson was like 30 when he came to the UFC. I hope he keeps fighting and spoils any chance Bones has of attaining these goals. I get that it's easy to be a fan of Jon Jones the figher but I don't know how anybody can be a fan of Jon Jones the person.
